DECLARE YOUR FREEDOM

Slaves live with FEAR………

Independent people live with CONFIDENCE

India is FREE today because of the many who risked their lives and everything they had, and were willing to die for what they believed. And in doing so, India got her independence. A new India was born.
But if it hadn't been for the likes of Ghandiji, Subhash Chandra Bose etc., who loved India intensely, it might never have happened.

India is a free country -  but  are we free?
Are we anchored to our fears, which control us?  Imagine how strong it is – that which is invisible, that which has been created by us is now controlling us!

Called by many names – shyness, stage fright, speech anxiety, fear of speaking, presentation related anxiety, and speech phobia - Stage Fright has stopped people from getting dream jobs/ spouses/ increments with a negative effect on careers and promotions/ growth.

Fear is a sickness a disease which makes our heart skip a beat, loss of words and speech, stammering, increased breathing and heartbeat, sweating, nausea, diarrhea etc.

No body would like to be controlled by an imaginary problem.  They all want to get rid of FEAR!  Then why are so many people living an unfulfilled life giving up in the middle to get rid of the fear?

Come and rediscover the confidence that you were born with at birth

Quick fixes do not work!

Taking a pill for the headache, caused by improper sleep due to stress, will not solve the true problem.  Taking insulin to bring down the glucose level and continuing to satisfy the sweet tooth with goodies will only solve symptoms and ignite problems.  When surface level actions, which ignore the underlying problems are taken, the matter just gets worse.
Don’t we find some who are told to sleep on hard ground when they spoil there back on ‘comfort’ beds? A/C rooms, super clean area may only hinder in facing realities with ease!  We are all born with the resilience and abilities to jumpstart our life however, comfort zones seem to kill them the way man lost his unused tail and the way the grass grows on an unused path.  Many pampered children cannot cross the road, fall sick without the mineral water and show many such parent inflicted problems.

Are we our own enemies?  Our anti reality living seems to be destroying that which is deep within.  Are we more bothered about the fruits rather than taking care of our roots?
Only that which is seen is given importance and not that which is hidden, yet vital.

COMMUNICATE YOUR WAY TO SUCCESS

-         The student who gets more marks in school and college is the one who is able to write/ express well!
-         The student who gets the best job is the one who faces the interview and group discussion with confidence!
-         The employee who is pushed in the front to face people and situations is the one who communicates with confidence!
-         Bigger and better jobs, sales, promotions and happier life go to people who communicate well with themselves and with others.

How are your communication skills?

The job you get, the friends you have, the help you get and many more vibrant equations of life depend on how vibrant your communication skills is?
Very few invest their time & energy on improving their communication skills.
Very few act on this wonderful resource presented by God.

Everybody seems to be running after money, material, name and fame.
However, people who do attract that, are people who work on their communication skills. Effective communication helps attract the right people, ideas, circumstances and all that is good!

Bounce back to aristocracy /meritocracy from mediocrity, just by learning to communicate with confidence!

Be True to YOURSELF!

In the jungle, there is an unsaid hierarchy.. an unsaid set of rules which maintains a functional balance. The lion does its bit in this balance, the vulture does its. What happens if the vulture decides to assume the role of the lion?

In life, we are told to come out of our comfort zone. Instead, if one expands their comfort zone, the need to 'FIT in' is eliminated. If I project what I am not, can I ever be happy with what I am?

An image of the self, which is not true to the self, only creates anxiety and nervousness. When one tries to impress rather than create a truthful impact, one can never feel full… and unless you feel full, you can never feel fulfilled!!

Life is like a seed. Full of potential.. full of exciting possibilities. Unless one explores and works on their OWN potentials, growth is not complete. The seed does not materialize into the plant it is meant to be!

ARE YOU TRYING TO EMERGE FROM WITHIN OR ARE YOU TRYING TO EXPLORE FROM WITHOUT?!

ACTION CREATES ATTRACTION

There is a lot of difference between Information, Knowledge, Knowing & Wisdom. Action is the simplest word which produces profound impact. Action on the self produces Attraction of the right people and circumstances and Action on goals helps one to reach Satisfaction. Both Attraction and Satisfaction end in ACTION! The very act of ACTION creates a path. The right tools and skills make the effort, effortless! Unfortunately, many spend a lot of time and money for knowledge and resources rather than working on being resourceful - with the right tools and skills.
Every seed grows inside out and those who work on the self inside out with the right habits, will definitely succeed!

Dying Embers

Post our leadership campfire, the fire’s died down and everyone retired. The night was also over. Early morning during our sound meditation, the  gentle breeze stired up the ashes. One tiny ember was brought to life. The fire was once again burning.

Our potential is like the ember, dully glowing within us. When we are young it burns brightly and we attempt a lot of things. As we grow older, our eagerness and enthusiasm dies with the conditioning, leaving us filled with self doubts like the ashes.

What we need to remember is that the ember is there in us. We need to bring it to life. Like you shake of the ashes and pile new fuel to get the fire going once again, you need to look at new avenues.

The potential is there, it is left to you to use it. Potential is always there, waiting for you to call it forward. As long as there is life there is potential. When you recognize it, it is like having a treasure waiting for you to use it.

CONFIDENCE BY AWAKENING THE PERSON IN YOU!

We are all born as persons but only a few become personalities. Personality – awakening the sleeping giant in YOU, by CAPping the ABILITY in the particular Person into a CAPABILITY. Unfortunately, instead of becoming our best, we work towards becoming something else by comparing with the others. This being almost impossible, we slowly go into a ‘Shy Shell’ leading to inhibitions. An iron ore at best can become surgical steel, just because gold is costly and the society wants it, nothing will help me be that!

We become so conscious than that, our social skills too become more to impress people and we are all the time on guard. Deep down, we all want to be ourselves but, when our worst gets compared with the best of others, we start working towards the near impossible. That is why; the biggest disease of the society is jealousy and procrastination – not being able to do something, as well as the others - in what they are good at. Instead of working on ones best, we start working on our weaknesses. It is like sending a Neem tree for tuitions, as, though the mud and water are same, it is not as sweet as the coconut by its side. The injected sugar syrup into the roots may make the tree sweet but, its medicinal value may be lost.

Confidence is when - You Enable Yourself To Be The Person Who You Really Are. Success is not what one has but what one is!

OBSERVE, REFLECT & DISCOVER

While Newton discovers gravity, Visvesvaraya sees electricity in Jog falls. Why is it that they see what many do not?
Observing is one of the main skills that mentally keep them prepared to read coincidences. They look beyond the obvious and for a deeper meaning in things. The first step is looking at it; the second is putting it into perspective or understanding what you see.
To understand, you reason out the meaning. From the known area you work on it to understand the unknown. Reasoning is you’re testing out and accepting and discovering the unknown. After a few such episodes, this process becomes integral!
Observe, reflect and discover – possibility becomes actuality!

Buoyancee Column

If it wasn't for the British and the push on the platform out of the train, the name Gandhi would not be the brand it is today.  The yin and yang of life is a balance and works all the time.  There cannot be a tree without the root nor a child without the male and female.
Also, at first we were told that the light is colourless and then, that it is made up of 7 colours.  It became even more confusing when at first they said that it passes in a straight line and later that it gets distorted at angles.  Like the sun rays, when focused at a point, the laser can burn cataract and cut metals too.  The more we know, the more complicated life becomes.  It does not seem to be having any end.
This yin and yang of life makes us realize that what we know is hardly anything with respect to the reality.  Almost everything that we think is right, is proved wrong tomorrow, what ever it is.  Problems come to us only so that we challenge them and rise above it.  Finally, they only help us grow in our beliefs and the self.
Every incident in life comes with a message.  If we contemplate we learn, if we complain we sulk.  Decide where you would like to be in this spectrum of life.

INTENT IS LATENT POTENT

Potency is the ability within us or latent talent. This makes us what we are and do what we do. Potency is different from person to person as all people are unique. All flowers are beautiful but some are strongly fragrant while others are mild.
Everyone serves according to his ability and that ability is flexible. When one is in the mood the ability also increases. The intention is important here. The senior citizens of the little forest are providing water and newspapers, for their friends, just that little more.
When there is intent the means follows. The will makes you more flexible and you find yourself able to stretch yourself just that little more. The intent is the key to performance. Intend and so it will be possible. An acrobat starts with one summersault and goes on to do 5or 6..
The quickness with which you reach the intended goal is dependent on your will. The stronger the will the greater the likelihood of reaching your goal. You tap the full potential you have. Fill in the tank with gas (action), only then can you travel far.

Excellence is Situation Proof

The Acropetal group was jubiliant as they met for the cake cutting ceremony on Jan 1st 2010. While team Acropetal was rejoicing and teaming to take in the new emerging India, many individuals of other companies saw themselves within their confines due to cost cutting measures.
The slow down was only an incident. While the other companies saw it as an obstacle, Ravi Kumar, the CEO of Acropetal saw it as an opportunity. "Every opportunity has a difficulty and every difficulty and opportunity" say Ravi. Being armed with this attitude, he truly was able to climb up and increase his army of professionals by three times and of course, his turnover too.
The universe has a lot to offer to those who vibrate with it. Many get recognized by STPI however, to receive that award during tough times only proves the toughness of the man behind Acropetal. As the name suggests, Acropetal is climbing heights in a smooth manner.
Ravi's balance in life is fascinating too. He works not only for his company but finds quality time with his family too. He is also thinking of extending his family by going out to be useful to the society at large. His secret - he is not the one who works the most hours but the one who gets the most out of the hour!
'XL' is Ravi's mantra and he is truly creating that around him! India at this stage badly requires this tribe.

Food is fuel

You are what you eat; so the saying goes. You think and act according to what goes infor after all what goes in has to come out!
A vehicle that is filled with high-octane fuel must necessarily move faster then a vehicle with petrol. Petrol gives us more efficiency than diesel.
High energy foods give you high energy. Food that is nutritious builds you. Food is classified differently and has different purposes. Use food wisely and well.
The bee sucks nectar a high energy food; this, makes it very energetic and it is always busy. Heavy carbohydrates makes one lethargic as we find ourselves after a very heavy and rich meal.  Are fast foods and sedentary life disturbing our life?
You are what you eat, so take care!

Thoughts and Actions

Vishnuvardhan an idol of Sandalwood died. After an illustrious career as an entertainer he like all men died. People were sad. It is not pleasant to lose someone you know, especially when well known by a large number of people.
Most people when grief- stricken, retreat into themselves. However, there is also a type that needs to exhibit their feelings. The grief -stricken family and friends of the idol kept appealing to the public for peace, but there were many incidents of arson.
What happened? Everyone was moved by the death. Everyone was mourning. The thoughts were divine. The actions, however only served to divide! However good our intentions, we need to think deeply before we act!
Divine thoughts become negative because of accumulated frustrations.  This finally is the result of unrealistic expectations!
Expectations as a benchmark and Acceptance of realities will help one be divine in actions too.

FALLEN LEAVES

'Udyana nagara', 'The City of Gardens' are some of the expressions used to describe Bangalore, our city. Have you taken a walk along its roads? If you walk along its avenues you will perhaps notice a lot of leaves.

These leaves are usually old and dry and have been discarded by the tree, or have lost their power to hold on. After a full life of service, most of us detach ourselves from our places of work like these old leaves.

Some people are like the evergreen, staying on and proving their usefulness all through their life. These people are blessed with the enthusiasm for life.

Sometimes, the rains or strong wind plays havoc with the leaves. Young tender leaves are torn and thrown off. These leaves do not have the strength to hold on. Life gives us a chance, but sometimes we are not up to it and find ourselves discarded. This could be a result of unforeseen situations like the slow down or closure of a company, but
most events give warning signals.

The reason one finds himself a discarded leaf could be the lack of thought. Lack of forethought or the lack of preparation is the reason. In this fast changing world, you have to run very fast to stay in the same place, if you think you have the pace, you have lost your place! So change; for CHANGE is the only constant in life. It is better to lead change than follow it!

TRAITS OF WINNERS

Winner's confidence comes from their optimism. This gives them an enthusiasm for life and a positive outlook. Motivation automatically follows.

Motivation being inspiration in action, they perform. Being exuberant, they attract the right people and circumstances with their communication. Contacts push you towards your goals.

The future is the performer's. While his energy motivates those around, it also keeps despair at bay, what drains you and makes you feel that the future is nonexistent. Success which helps develop positive thinking further attracts the good. Filling oneself with positive feelings is a sure way of repelling despair.

See, act and achieve to be the architect of a great future. To achieve this you need to visualize the future. Decisions truly direct destinies. Your decisions are made when you set the goals and study the causes and effect.

In short you need to have ideas and work on them. This leads to progress. Progress is stagnant or nonexistent without evaluation. Isn't success easy?

Smooth Life is Guaranteed!

A biker loves to ride a serviced bike on the Bangalore
NICE road of international standard, as there are no
hindrances. The glide is thrilling.
He can't do it smoothly on the crowded MG Rd /Brigades.
He has no choice. The snail space is not exciting.
Our lives too could be a smooth or a rough ride,
depending upon our thoughts & thinking. Our thinking
makes us to react or respond and that decides our
travel.
Controlling our thoughts may be difficult however,
our thinking and the resultant feeling is in our hands.
Sieve out niceties from necessities and life will
be smooth!

Success through Self-confidence... is Guaranteed

Without self-confidence it is impossible to achieve great results. Without it, people move around like low voltage bulbs or with carburettors and spark plugs of life with the dust of fear and doubt. Not only their work but their very movement and presence sometimes irritates people around and themselves too.
Confidence not only attracts the right people and circumstances but also helps the individual perform his best! While people pay more money for turbo engines in their cars, in their own being, many are found with sub-optimal confidence. They are ready to pay more for those engines but confidence requires time and energy on the self which people do not have today. Maybe, Confidence which comes free during birth, we do not value it the way it should have been.
Invest your time and energy on the self to awaken the unused confidence. What you do not use, you lose and thus, if you want to flow through life like hot knife through butter, and have charisma for personal magnetism, work on the inner self!

BREAK AN EGG

Break an egg a life is lost; the egg breaks and life comes into being! A knife is not a plaything, it is dangerous, and the same knife is used to cut the vegetable or to perform a life saving operation.

The way we look at things and the depth of meaning we attach forms our thoughts. To someone a half bottle of water is half full while to some it is half empty. The attitude one has and the way you are brought up makes and shapes you.
Just a thought developed at length is a thesis. This tells us how we ought to live life. Our ideas and our attitude are brought out in a thesis. What we fail to realize is that the thesis is but the synthesis of life.

A combining of the elements and the stating of them in life related situations is synthesis. Thesis is no doubt knowledgeable but it lacks the touch of reality. It is just a clinical statement of what can happen and what the possibility is.

Synthesis is the bringing to life of a thesis by placing it in reality or using it in life. Synthesis is the synchronizing of life with theory or making theory work with a humane touch.
Theory is that an egg must break. Synthesis is that the egg breaks to bring new life to the world not destroy a life!

PERSUASION

Life is filled with negotiations! We are always negotiating something. We want something or we don't.
While negotiating we use persuasion a lot. Persuasion is the art of winning someone over to your side or point of view. In negotiating you have to give something in exchange but by persuading you stand to gain more.
Persuasion is power! How do you get powerful? You get good at persuasion when you are committed and sincere. People trust a sincere person who is known to keep commitments.
Walk the talk they say. Be sincere in your actions for they bring out your intentions best. Think your actions through. Think them constantly and act according to them. When your thinking and doing match, you are sincere. A sincere person has more influence and is more persuasive.
Be polite. Politeness is a valuable tool. Always be polite, if people have the same opinion of you when you are there are absent you are trusted and better able to persuade.
Be excellent. When you excel in your work you are an authority and get respected. A respected person has a greater sphere of influence and can persuade others more easily. Learn to communicate with persuation.

Be True to YOURSELF!

In the jungle, there is an unsaid hierarchy, an unsaid set of rules
which maintains a functional balance. The lion does its bit in this balance,
the vulture does its. What happens if the vulture decides to assume the
role of the lion?
In life, we are told to come out of our comfort zone. Instead, if one expands
their comfort zone, the need to 'FIT in' is eliminated. If I project what I am not,
can I ever be happy with what I am?
An image of the self, which is not true to the self, only creates anxiety and
nervousness. When one tries to impress rather than create a truthful impact,
one can never feel full… and unless you feel full, you can never feel fulfilled!!
Life is like a seed. Full of potential.. full of exciting possibilities. Unless one
explores and works on their OWN potentials, growth is not complete. The
seed does not materialize into the plant it is meant to be!
ARE YOU TRYING TO EMERGE FROM WITHIN OR ARE YOU TRYING
TO EXPLORE FROM WITHOUT?!

When less is more...

"Simplicity is making the journey of this life with just enough baggage."
Accumulation is not wealth, inner peace and harmony is!
Running behind materialistic comforts leads to unnecessary stress. A
Bungalow, three cars and a swimming pool is of no use, when you don't
have the time to enjoy them. Don't we find many too busy earning to
pay for these!
I was quite happy with my 31" TV, till my neighbour bought a 52" TV.
Thus begins the rat race..
Do we take a moment to introspect? Do I really need that extra pair of shoes?
The recession has now opened many eyes to this school of thought.
It has forced people to ask themselves several such questions.
Minimalism is the new mantra in today's age. With an atmosphere of
financial chaos added to the continuing depletion of resources,
individuals and institutions are now recognising the importance of
lean management. Managing with just enough rather than wasting has now
emerged as the game plan of every successful venture.
Do you now see the MORE in LESS?

Frustration IN

The lable on the cuff is that of Arrow and the watch
is Rolex.  The shoes adidas and Van Heusen trousers.
This man gets down from a sedan and is ushered in
for a meeting.
These brands help create an impact and help get
more business.  In these times of tough competitions,
business needs to be kept healthy with such strappings.
However, while the strappings are costly, decorating
the outside, that which is ingested only results into
frustration....
Nicotine/ tar enriched smoke inside the lungs, negative
thoughts in the mind, junk food in tummies, A/c rooms
for exercising blocking dirt being removed through
sweat....!  Are we our own enemies?

The Power Within

Converge the sunrays onto a paper and it burns.  The huge engine moves a train when the steam gets directed.  The tunneled waters of Sharavati are able to move the turbines and produce electricity.  There is power in that which is focused and disciplined!
While focus and discipline are processes, there needs a committed soul to make this happen.  Something like the sun's commitment with its unfailing action.  Commitment is the inner glow that lights up your inside and emanates from you.
Commitment is Being… what you are.
Self Discipline is Doing… action to be on the road.
Goal is the reality of achievement… having

GROWTH

The seed has to die to grow into a plant.  Those that soak in water, burst open into a new life by destroying themselves.  Pain & effort is growth.  First the root and then the shoot, in opposite directions, form the plant.  There is a system to everything. Those that fall by the side on the stone and get wet, rot.

We humans are also seeds filled with potential. But, which seed do you want to be? Do we use our potential and grow to the best of our ability? Or, are we afraid of the pain of growth?

If you have fallen on good soil and use all your resources you can be good. If you have fallen on soil that is not of the best quality but use your abilities fully you can be great! If you are afraid of pain and challenges you will rot.

The potential is ours and so is the choice!

POST DATED CHEQUE

Life is a post dated cheque! Encash it as you please! The signature on the cheque is your work, showing your worth. What your worth is in the sum of the P's, the D's and the C's you put in.
The P's are many and varied. You begin with Patience and being Positive. You Plan with Purpose. Planning is insufficient unless you Persevere. Stick to the task and stick long enough to make it a Present for you.
Dedicate yourself to the task on hand and your single-minded effort (Devotion) will bear fruit. The Decision is yours. You need to Dream, for only dreams give you a purpose. With purpose you have direction.  This direction is your destiny for it is the divine
You are Paid for your Dreams with Challenges. As you successfully overcome each challenge, you pick up the cheque!  Are you communicating with the self and others with confidence?

ACTION

Satisfaction is something we all look for in life. Satisfaction is a result of any action that is carried out to completion and meets the expectations. So satisfaction is guaranteed only when there is a positive reaction.
Reactions are different for different situations, and depend on the attraction it holds for one. The reaction is dependent on the satisfaction that is a benefaction (blessing) when it occurs. Subtraction of the attraction leads to dissatisfaction.
Distraction leads to inaction and a lack in your functioning. Extraction of the best result is in your hands and the action you perform. Interaction and not inaction are what is required from us. Overreactions or overreaction can spoil our chances and the result. So we have to remember that our satisfaction depends on the right type of action at the right time for best transactions.
Thus, work on not collecting information but towards transformation.  It means the right action towards transcending over the present form. BE à DO à HAVE!

THE CHALLENGE CONTINUES

Life is a challenge! That is what makes it interesting. You could be the type that rises up to it or the type to curse it. It is your choice!
Abhinav Bindra had it all. Rich parents and pampering! This advantage was used to create a star. The diamond was painstakingly polished. The diamond and the gold setting were there but the fit was to be achieved.
The challenged who achieve are usually the ones with the least backing, for they have little to lose.  When all the comforts are there the will to achieve is less. The power that drives is the hunger for success.
Success of others or your own? The few Abhinavs of this world use the comforts of life as springboards not as cocoons.
The Royal Challengers proved it too. From being a down and out team they made it to the finals. The challenges go on, are you a challenger?

Success is Easy

Success is Easy: - one needs to spend optimum amount of Time & Energy, the most wasted resources presented to us by God.  A dash of discipline is a must.  No reasons for not doing what needs to be done - only work towards results!

Those who aim for overnight success and do not respect the gestation period, burn out fast.  Right strategies, execution of plans, follow-up, group evaluations and continuous improvements disappointments and challenges is the typical spread of the success platter.

One can increase the speed with concerted team work, courage to take risks with integrity and perseverance laced with patience.

Concentrate on what is working rather than what is not.  Keep counter productive feelings at bay.

Remember, what you concentrate upon, expands.  Make a list of all the good which is happening and read them daily for motivation.  Discuss with your colleagues all the goodness in people around and in the project too.  Invest time on yourself to develop the right tools & skills.  Meditation reinforces all the goodness in you!
Finally, the major thing to keep in mind - Attraction of anything will happen only when you are "At Action on a Tract!"

I want to employ 50,000 slum children

Sarathbabu refused an offer of Rs 800,000/= salary, to start his own catering services. Today, he employs 200 people and has a turnover of Rs 20 crores. This is the story of what one can achieve when you are focused.

At a function of ICGF, organized by Rotary  Cubbon Park Dist. 3190, Sarathbabu was invited to express and motivate a large audience. Sarathbabu, only son of a idly vendor in Chennai slums struggled all through his youth. He learnt very early in life that one has to work very hard to come up in life. During his school days, he was forced to support his mother in her business and he started working at a very early age. He was very probing and had the power to elicit lot of information from passers by and well wishers. He was brought up in an environment which was ignorant of Engineering courses. But now Sarathbabu is a B.E from BITS, Pilani and an MBA. After his education, he refused to accept a cushy job and set out to achieve his life time goal to employ 50,000 youth. In this pursuit, he started the catering service FoodKing. FoodKing is present in 6 major cities of Tamil Nadu and  Sarathbabu now is aiming at a Pan-Indian presence.

Sarathbabu focused on only what he could do rather than what he could not. He challenged himself and kept fine tuning for performing better. With this big goal in sight, Sarathbabu is taking calculated risks and is confident about making his dreams real.

He is truly living up to this year's slogan of Rotary Dist 3190 - Make Dreams Real!

JEEWAN SE NA HAAR 'O' JEENEWALE

"I came to Bangalore to earn and send some money for my family, however, when I got involved in social service through Lions, Rotary & Buoyancee, I learnt that I will have to create wealth for Nepal," remarked Jeewan,  who joined Buoyancee about two years back.

When he came, he knew neither English nor Kannada. Today Jeewan heads Calligraphy at Buoyancee and is also fluent in English. He is now training to be a professional trainer. He spends an hour on his personal development, he wants to double his proficiency every year by growing 0.3% per day!  "If I develop 0.3% per day, I would have doubled my abilities a year," says Jeewan.

"Today, I have realized that the biggest hindrance in people's growth is FEAR.  All over India, if people just work on their confidence and beliefs, India will be a super power soon," says Jeewan.

Can we have more Jeewans in our society?

Leadership through Relationship - Blending not Bending

When I was in the Gulf in the 80s, I was fascinated to see the garage open and the car a/c start with the flick of a button.  Now, in India, all actions are technology, "push button" oriented. The ubiquitous keys and locks are increasingly becoming a relic of the past.

However, for every lock, we need specific push buttons.  Just like the specific FM wavelengths give specific songs, the transmitter and receiver have to be in sync.  Actually the push button communicates with the specific receiver as it recognizes the frequency.

Generation incompatibility usually arises as the frequencies in the transmitter and the receiver do not match.  Buoyancee did not want to start adult training as we wanted to focus on the children and teens.  "Parents spend more time with their children and so we need to start related courses for them, to support the children" said Jayashree, a faculty member, and that was how we got into adult and corporate training.
Of course, the times were with us and being experts in blending with the requirements of communication, it became easier to open the minds of a group to donate land to us, make a bank give us loans with no guarantee and many more things, which we were told are impossible. We only used this principle of vibrating with their frequencies and putting things the way they would like to have it.

When one learns the art of keeping the Context and Delivery in frequency and in tune with that of the concerned, the lock opens!  Observation and blending to circumstances is the way.  Oil and water do not mix however, surfactants help them to.  A cream is preferred over an ointment as the application is better and easy.  The stickiness is avoided.  Tune in to attune.

Champion Habits to face life with Confidence!

Success leaves clues and the Olympics have a lot to teach us.  These learning can be applied with a little thought for every sport, business or craft.

The winning horse gets Rs. 1 million and the second, with a half centimeter difference gets only Rs. 0.2 million!  In the 7th swimming race in Olympics, special technology was required to find out whether or not Michael Phelps would wear the gold.  Similar such small actions decide whether in life we would be wearing gold medals of relationships by those around.

One just has to work on the champion within.  Our right hand is stronger than the left, as we use it more.  Similarly, your relationships depend upon whether you are working towards building them or complaining about those around.  To be a champion, work on them positively.
Dear reader, there is a Champion inside you.

Start from your area of passion, see why you are known to be a good parent or an entrepreneur or a weekend athlete or a singer or a writer.

Unleashing your champion traits and using it in other activities will help you.  All you have to do is apply a few simple strategies to your own pursuits and practice them consistently everyday.

MOTIVE  FOR  ACTION

"I'm quitting my job, I worked so hard but still no recognition or increment."
                                                                                                Run of the mill employee.
"I practiced for ten years to reduce one second from my best swimming time to reach my goals."                                                                                                Michael Phelps
Soul oriented goals which drive individuals from within make them champions!
Michael Phelps had a 'motive' to take 'action' and attain his dominance over the pool.  Ussain Bolt too worked on decreasing every second to reach the finish line in the magic time.  They do not brood over the efforts that need to be put and infact, put in extra might  to see that what they want they get.
People who are extrinsically motivated will never be happy and will give up faster than necessary.  Though all our scriptures say that one should leave the fruits to 'God', they want to be Gods and keep changing their jobs - result, unhappiness!
Better your Best and forget the rest… should be the name of the game.
Motivation then, is the 'motive' for 'action'!

THE ONLY FREEDOM - 'To Choose Your Attitude'

Our circumstances and bringing up instill Certain beliefs in us, which decide how we will choose this only freedom of ours! These beliefs make us to do things without thinking as they are embedded  into our sub-conscious minds. Why we do what we do is dependent on our attitude & lead their lives self centered, only  thinking. Many for material gains. We do not know what drives us and thus we have two extremes Mother Teresa & Gandhiji or Veerappan & Bin Laden.

HURRY LEADS TO WORRY

Fast food eaten fast to save time leads to indigestion & improper health…
Fast track learning gives one the certificate but not knowledge…
Fast grown coconuts/ papayas/ any veg/fruits do not have the alkaloids or taste, like the one grown organically…

It still takes 9 months for a baby to grow.  A poem read by a commentator will make no sense.

A matured wine is costly & tasty. A pickle needs time to bring out the right taste & flavour.

The people, who hurry, do not respect gestation period and thus the negative rebound of nature.  Pulling hair for faster growth will only uproot it! Don't we find people now going in for products by organic farming?  They have realized that rushing is crushing!

Can we learn to respect gestation period?

Haven't we learnt and experienced that haste is waste?

Can we start enjoying the great moments with nature, the rising sun, the relationship building with our loved ones?

When we do not give enough 'attention' to the moments, we are 'at-tension'!

Relax & rejoice in the moment.  A naturally bloomed flower and fruit is more valuable.

FALLEN LEAVES

Udyana Nagara, City of Gardens, we call our city. Have you taken a walk along its roads? If you walk along its avenues you will notice a lot of leaves strewn around.

This could be a result of unforeseen situations like the slowdown or closure of a company, but most events give warning signals.

RAIN GOD!

Water! The best thing in life is this colorless, odorless and tasteless universal solvent. We enjoy it, whether drinking it, bathing in it or getting wet in a shower of rain. When the heavens open up and the Gods smile on the tiny people of earth with the rains, it is a pleasure.

The same water when thrown at you while you are passing by on the street makes you curse. All hell is let loose and a free for all ensues. But, the fight is only unpleasant and of no use.  However, when the water sprinkled by the priest in the temple does not fall on you, you are unhappy.

The same water brings out different feelings in us! Is it the situation, or the attitude? Everything is in the mind. We are what we believe!

The best thing is to be calm, and observe yourself! Spare a few minutes to think and then decide whether you are going to respond or react!

SAVE TO SPEND

Indians were sparing spenders all along. This resulted in unchanging life- styles and strong traditions. However the scene has changed. People are open to change and spend more.

Spending is so satisfying, when you have the means. The modern times are times of surplus. There are opportunities to earn and the temptation to spend.

Caught in the race to spend, we are getting entangled in the web of credits. Tempting offers and peer pressure make a spending- sprees more and more a necessity.

Spend what? Not just money, the expenditure is of your TIME, PEACE OF MIND and running through RELATIONSHIPS.

Save to spend! Save time, and use it qualitatively, for that which gives you lasting relationships and true self-worth. Spend to bring a smile on the face of a loved one, not a bribe to be left alone!

HUNTERS TO HAUNTERS

Man was concerned with food, as it is even now! Hunting was a necessary activity. This involved a lot of planning and skill. It was the most exciting activity. Adrenalin was high and the reward was great! Man celebrated the hunt! He drew pictures, sang songs and feasted.

The hunt was strenuous and not always successful. Man also desired variety and started gathering and cultivation. The miracle of new life, the soothing cycle of predictability, was a welcome change! This allowed him more time to explore his environment, socialize and start civilized behaviour.

Excitement, peace and now what? Man is civilized; he created society and now is busy conforming to society!
Gone are the days of pumping adrenalin, peace is dull! Excitement is missing in the everyday life of man! Predictability and the lack of challenges is making man dull. The absence of adrenalin coursing through his veins has made life lack luster. This has resulted in a complacent attitude. Work is no longer interesting and important. We are haunted by sense of emptiness!

When the stimulus is external it is short-lived! The only solution is to generate your own excitement by setting your own targets!

Are you hunting life or is life haunting you?

AGEING

'Wrinkle Free' do you really think one can stop ageing?

There are people who invest in thousands thinking that they can really reverse ageing!

Antiques which are preserved well, find a greater price.  When one ages gracefully, maintaining the self physically & mentally, the respect and gratitude are automatic.

Thus, not external trappings but internally balancing ones life creates a long term impact.  Investments on gyms, walks, diets will help raise ones value by raising ones self worth.  It is the feeling that is more important. Don't we find Mother Teresa achieving more that the models, and also remembered for long?

Her wrinkles are revered.
One who feels good from within works with enthusiasm, which is the secret of success.  External trappings are only working on the looking good factor, which work so long as they are there.  You are as young as you feel.

LIFE - A Bunjee Jump - Learn to Celebrate.

WOW! That is how we feel under a water fall.  While enjoying the cascading effect, we also need to focus on our balance, fighting the intention of the water to dislodge us.  One has to juggle between thinking, planning, preparing and anchoring, all at the same time.

Don't we find this type of multi tasking as a part of our life?  And just like the water fall above, ideas, tips and techniques have to emanate creatively & critically too.

The various streams that make a river are like the various subjects for the students or challenges for the executive.  The more the streams (subjects/ responsibilities) more is the speed and heavier the leap as it forms a waterfall.

The greater the speed (type of course/ position) the more challenges ahead.  While entering a fall, we need to make sure that we can swim, take the impact of the fall well, along with all its excitement. We also need to balance and take in our stride the accidental fall and many more unforeseen incidents …

Have you developed the thinking, planning preparing and anchoring along the line or have you taken up the course/ assignment for the excitement/ enjoyment/ emoluments only?  Learn to multi task for better ideas, tips and techniques to stand firmly.  Bunjee jumping can truly be a celebration

ENERGY - USING JUST A THIRD!

The world is facing a severe energy crunch. The cost of energy fuels is spiraling skywards!

Energy, if you have got it wrong, is not about the fuel that fills up your tank, but ….about life energy! Life is beautiful, but what do we do! Spend a THIRD of our energy in reliving the past. The past is done, shouldn't we move on?

The other irritating habit most of us have is dreaming and planning for a glorious future forgetting that tomorrow begins today!

The end of the day sees us tired. We complain of no energy. Where did the energy go? The quantum allowed us has been depleted and the 1/3rd we had was not gainfully spent.

This week dedicated to the environment, can we save energy; not by any extraordinary sacrifices, but just living in the present and utilizing our personal energy fully?

Energy saved is energy manufactured!

Be in the present to energize & optimize!

The twenty/20 IPL match has taught us many things…

Be brisk with optimum risk… massive runs right from the word go
The poor spirited who brood over previous failures cannot go on
Have to attitude gains over can do attitude.
Those who accept the challenging runs are able to chase it well
The will to excel & win instead of anger & jealousy is the best way to surge
Small differences in fielding, batting and balling result into big differences
Error in judgment are due to low motivation & enthusiasm & lead to failures
A single over can make all the difference
A great deal of little hits by a team can over power big hits by few
The winning team are always those who believe in continuous improvement
The best players who work as a group cannot win over the underdogs who work as a team
Possibilitarians land up as winners
Right intention and attention keep tension away
Focus of the entire team should be concentrated towards common goals
Do not underestimate any moment or any team
One has to win the self to win the outside

NURTURE YOUR SELF!

Sachin and his friends, students from a college in Bangalore, went and stayed with a tribal family in the middle of the jungles. Their objective was to show them the importance of development. However, they were shocked to see their life style from close quarters. The cock woke them up and their time was controlled by the sun, the moon and finally the seasons. When the students tried to tell them the importance of time management and the impact of the watch, they were told that from times unknown, they have never used them and had never faced problems.

The whole tribe had no shortage of any product and the men of the clan went for food and honey together. They knew each other by names and the children were confident walking into the forest without fear. The tribal were more healthier than these guys and could walk for hours without sunburn or exhaustion. They were shocked by the camaraderie and the helpful nature amongst them and enjoyed the night singing and dancing around the bon fire.

The people who went to change the tribals, finally realized the robotic life that they were living in the city. They started feeling like slaves, under the control of the clock, key result areas and the KPI's. While they spent a lot on hotels, food and medicines, all this was available on the trees around. Instead of them changing the ways of the tribals, they came back changed…

Break free from the clock. Get in touch with the rhythms of life, of your body and of nature. Be more relaxed and reject the notion that time rules us.

Be natural, feel natural & live natural

'Disease of Mind is Disability'

What is so great about being a wrestler, a teacher, a marathon athlete, a long distance cyclist, a glider and a mountain climber?

Nothing great but, when one is blind and still good at all these, then one is a hero.

Erik Weihenmayer, never complained about his being blind and what he did not have but, on being and doing his best. He is the only blind to climb the Himalayas apart from many other similar achievements which we the so-called normal people cannot boast of.

Those who whine and complain instead of taking positive actions, probably, are more disabled than those with physical sub-optimality.

Adversity did not stop Dr. Hawkins from getting the Nobel prize, though a paraplegic, nor our own Malati Holla from getting the Arjun Award and Padma Shri.

Learn to conquer your own mind first and conquering your disabilities and all problems will miraculously vanish. Are you complaining about the heat, the dust, the roads etc., without taking any action? They will only create a turmoil which may lead to lot of disabilities.

Blind Erik could withstand the roaring winds, ice blizzards, oxygen depletion and the rough terrains. Today we find many people who cannot tolerate most of the things around them. Disease of the mind eventually leads to frustrations, anger, divorces and murders!

Is our growth & affluence nurturing disability?

- COMPARE -
for SPELL OR for DISPELL

When one compares with the self, with one's yesterday to today, one discovers the small discrepancies to work upon for better performance. Progress has its own gestation period and one has to respect it. Great results are produced by those who advance taking small yet steady steps. The small changes inspire and motivate true achievers. Those in a hurry could probably give up in the middle or have trouble carrying the sudden growth. Tie the weight of the womb with quadruplets on a similar young girl and she will have problems in going forward, while the pregnant lady will not.

Those who compare with others, usually, their concentration are to hit it big. They aim to be somebody overnight. They want the magic wand for crystallizing their dreams into realities at jet speed. However, without a great deal of little hits first, gigantic things do not happen. Also, incremental progress makes one to carry the success comfortably.

Comparing with self helps compete with the self. The concentration is on the self improvement for pushing growth towards one's goal. Organized & regular activity on a regular basis helps one to achieve unbelievable success. Doing this in teams creates miracles like the ones by the bees. A speck of a drop by each bee in each encounter results into liters of honey.

Wishing you a great 'Attitude' and 'Belief in Self' to work towards your goals with 'Commitment' and 'Devotion'. May your efforts bear the right fruits!

What's True, may not be True...

While students in a pricey sedan zoomed screaming past an ugly looking jeep on the way to Chikmagalur, the old couple waved out throwing flying kisses at them. Coorgis are a lively lot and have a way to enjoy.
After a few kilometers ahead, a muddy/ dusty climb, the jeep couple saw the youngsters pushing their sedan. Feeling pity on them, they took their jeep ahead of them, asked them to sit in their car and using the power of the 4 wheel drive, got the students out of the rut.

The pricey sedan had its wheel spinning in the dusty road and could not pull itself up. The 4 wheel drive jeep was 'cheap' however; it met the needs. The nature/ beauty of both the cars was the same. Maybe, the jeep was like a roller coaster ride and a bit adventurous too.

It is true that the sedan is costly, comfortable; it is true you will not give a second look at the jeep but - the truth is that the jeep is dependable!

Are we going in life for beauty or functionality? Are we laughing at those who do not have the wherewithal which we have given importance to? Are we able to maneuver like the 4 wheel drive, operating in life the way it comes before us?

Life is the hilliest terrain you can imagine! Are you a fancy car or a 4- Wheel Drive? Are you training your faculties to be alert, to perceive the way and devise methods of working independently for the common good?

You are a unit but your efficiency depends on keeping your eyes open, assessing the situation constantly. When you are looking at the road there are ruts you can't avoid. Be prepared, and then you are at your best. Be prepared? Life is full of surprises, so how can you be prepared? Prepare yourself to be alert and life will be a smoother drive!

"TOOLS"

Are they the right ones?
Are they in the right shape?

Imagine a doctor without his stethoscope, or a carpenter without his tools. Their profession will come to an end. Interchange the tools and they will get frustrated, the tools will end up as useless. Have you ever thought 'what tools you require to further in your profession'?

Many with good marks in studies do not get the best jobs, as they would have never worked on the required tool called communication. Many do not get promoted, as they have no time to work on the main tool called relationship - the human angle of communication.

Many people are excellent in a 'Bhasha' (Language), but are missing the lubricant in relationships - 'Bhashana' (Speech Craft)! Just about 20 hrs invested on the self, can bring about a big shift in one's language skills.

Reaching our so called destiny is faster and easier when one sharpens one's tool called Communication. It is like what a sail is to a boat. It is what turbo is to an engine. The speed is better and is exciting too. However, it is sad that people find it unnecessary to work on the problems looming large inside of them.

They complaint about all problems outside and they cannot even adjust a few discrepancies which are not under their control.

Success is guaranteed and with ease, if one works on the God given intangible communication tools: ACTIONS, WORDS, ATTITIDES and our RELATIONS… They help you to connect better and create a spark in relationships, for a better life for all around.

"Success is difficult if you work with yesterday's tools for tomorrow's success"

FEEL GOOD & FEEL RIGHT

An equation always has to balance! Why, even while you walk, if you do not have weights in both hands, you tend to lean over to counterbalance or you are pulled down by the weight.

Life is an equation - possibly viewed as follows:

FEEL GOOD should be FEEL RIGHT.

Feel good is that action; which bring about a sense of satisfaction/happiness and enjoyment in what we are doing! Feel right is the continuing happiness even after we stop doing/indulging in it.

When you bring a smile to someone's face, it warms you whenever you think of it. It makes you want to repeat the action, like making a child laugh or the tear an old relative wipes away at your hug.

On the other hand, a peg gives you a KICK, and you feel great. Do you still remember what you did under its influence? Do you wake up feeling great? If the peg follows a peg, regularly, do you feel fit after a time.

Definitely not! Smoking, people think is cool; a sign at a hospital read: the best way to lose weight - take up smoking, lose one lung at a time!!!!!!

Feel good is all about feel right in the long run.

Ajit Kaikini - Director, Growth & Corporate Training
A motivational speaker who inspires his participants to Better their Best!

BE THE BEST or BE YOUR BEST

Imagine the bitter gourd competing with the cucumber just because they are vegetables. Or a pumpkin with water melon because they are from similar looking creepers. Don't you think they will be dejected and rejected?

Our society seems to be obsessed with comparisons, which makes us pretend to be somebody we aren't. Are we trying to be the Shah Rukh Khans and the Bachchans who shine on the screen in different roles? Can't we see the difference between reel life and real life?

Shah Rukh would like to be respected as himself, not just for his roles. Unfortunately, we like to accomplish and possess that which is promoted. Are then these things which produce the stress and the strain? We create tensions for ourselves in the battle to be the best instead of bettering ourselves to be our best!

VISITING PROFESSORS

January and February are beautiful months. You can see lovely birds from Russia breeding in India. Ranganathitu is one such place near Bangalore. Come March and these birds fly back.

There is no permanence about them. Some people are like them. They join a company and keep looking around for something else! Are we visitors? Are we afraid to let down our roots?

Antiques are valuable, in fact priceless. Wine is tastier and costlier the older it is, the process is known as maturing. If we mature in an organization, we also become valued members. Just as the wine changes in the bottle, we also need to change and keep abreast of the challenges, not run from challenges by changing jobs.

Visiting professors, these are highly valued people who come to deliver key- note addresses. They are not a part of the faculty. But, they too have gone through the grind as regular faculty, only the tough times have made them valuable.

Would you like to be a visiting professor or a visiting bird?

MOTIVATIONAL PROBLEMS

After a sumptuous meal you think you won't ever feel hungry again! But come next meal- time and you are ready! Our internal clocks are fine-tuned and keep good time.

When you read a good book or see a nice movie, you are excited. Listening to a motivating lecture/ speech fires you up. You set about achieving things --- but ---- you wind down like a clock and stop. Why? Who told you to stop?

You are the red signal in your progress! The motivation you received was just the key, you have to wind yourself up and keep the motivation high!

A speaker makes you dream, but cannot build for you. You have to take over where the speaker left. You need to keep the tempo up! Talk to your self, cheer your self on!

The frequent question at Buoyancee is -"We feel so good while we are here but out in the open we lose ourselves again!" It' s simple friends, but you have to practice telling your self that YOU are the greatest.

PAIN - THE MANURE FOR GROWTH

Fruits are so delicious, the roses so big. They are nurtured with great care. The manure the gardener uses is selected with a lot of thought. The owner is happy with the results but for days after the gardener has used manure, he cannot come into the garden without wrinkling his nose! The garden is a nasty smelly place.
Life is the garden and we the flowers and fruits. To bring out the true flavour, GOD the gardener, uses the pain of problems as manure.

Should we fear a little pain? Can we not look upon it as the manure of experience; that yields the sweetest fruit of all?

Just like different trees require different types of manure, different pains give us different experiences in life. Pain makes you to think and go towards a better path… Pleasures are only enjoyed and do not add much value to our life.

EGO HAMPERS PROGRESS

Having kept his tools in the corner, the carpenter walked away after a hard day's work. Being young and adventurous and creatively oriented, I decided to make a shoe rack with planks strapped at the sides with strips of wood.

Having marked the distance on the strip of wood, I decided to cut it into the required length. What looked so easy when the carpenter worked turned out to be a nightmare for me. I put full force and energy yet, not even a little dent was made. I gave up…

Giving it up as a bad job, the next best thing was to amuse myself by watching the television. A motivating story on perseverance was being aired. Fired by it, I took up the saw once again, this time; I paused to study it and was gentler and slower with the saw. When I saw a small notch appear, which grew gradually until I had two pieces of the wood, I had learnt many lessons.

Having got the hang of it, it was not long before a beautiful shoe rack stood before him. A piece of furniture, that faithfully served the family for the next 25yrs.

Success came only when I realized that it was not something I could fight with and conquer, it was something that had to be studied and learnt! The moment I realized that, there was no place for ego; the skill became mine.

All life's beautiful acquisitions and progress are lessons in humility!

Confront Comfort for Healthy living

Health is the most prized possession! Today people are changing their lifestyles like their everyday clothes, but eventually come to realize that health is at the end of the day, wealth. That explains why you find a plethora of gyms and health clubs at every nook and corner of the city.

It is a good idea to exercise. Sweating after a brisk session is even better. But what do we do? We are so fond of comfort that we exercise in air-conditioned gyms! We are comfortable and we feel good about exercising. Is it really effective? It is like the farmer using chemical manure, the yield is great but the fertility of the soil is lost and the taste is different! Go against nature and it shows its anger in some way or the other.

Be natural, go for natural methods to get long- lasting and good results. Aren't we ready to pay more for organic food now?

Success - Going Good to Great!

When one hits the ball with the bat, it is known as batting. If people just want to bat, they have to pay for their bat and the game. However, those who do good batting are paid to play. Better than that are those who do great batting… they get paid in the name of advertisements and brand promotion.

Learn it from achievers like Tendulkar. He is respected for his nearly 40 centuries however, it has not come overnight. He has taken over 16 years to reach this position. He did not sit sulking over the zeros and failures. He concentrated on his achievements to go ahead. As a good CEO of a brand/ company called 'Tendular' he knew that complaining would not change things. He studied the reasons for his failures and found ways to circumvent them.

Focusing on what is good for him and working on these requirements, he was able to reach this enviable position. He adjusted and mastered his actions towards success rather than adjust his goals and retire by reacting to the comments, when he was not doing well.

Tendulkar never bothered about his short height but did bother about his failures and worked towards rectifying them. He concentrated on the possibilities and those things which could be improved rather than those which could not be. He is truly a master… a professional who knows the skills required and the tricks of the trade.

WINNING IS EASY!

Match point! The team lost again! This is a fairly common thing we find. 'GOAL!!!!' 'SAVED!!!' The game is analyzed over and over again. Why do you fail? Do you like failing? Never! We crave for success.

In cricket, while the Australians study the game Indians play, the Indians watch the Australians. They try to figure out their strengths and weakness, to take advantage of their weakness and capitalize on them.
Similarly, if you are a loser in life, only YOU are responsible. It is because you concentrate and feed your weaknesses rather than working on the strength. Many are able to learn why they fail but, are not able to take corrective action.

Winning is easy when one learns and develops the art of observing and absorbing that which has to be. When the learning is allowed to sink in and when one learns the art of focusing on the self and one's goals, the mind, body and soul are in sync. When you think win, you sync you body and mind to win and your ink works towards that win. Being a winner every time then becomes easy!

DRIVEN BY WIND OR THE CURRENT?

You could do any of these three things:

• Sit in a boat and let the current take you…
• Sit in the boat and use the oars for control…
• Sit in the boat and fix sails for speed & control…

The wind blows and the sails fill out, allowing you to steer the boat. However, if you are caught in the current, you are at its mercy! The current takes you where it wants.

You are the boat. Would you like to steer yourself or be driven? Do you know where you want to go? Do you really need to go there? This want/need is a strange thing, something we let society tell us all the time.
We want to avoid discomfort and are willing to let society dictate our thoughts and run our lives. We let the current sweep us along, and suddenly we are falling, hurtling down the waterfall! Stress & Strain. Imagine the strain a trained horse will have trying to climb the tree. The smallest squirrel will have a cake run…
What went wrong? Did you listen to what society said you should do?

It is not what society said alone that works. It is how we act on what we hear! Be the wind and fill the sails, even if society, is the wind - YOU steer! Shut out the clutter from the outside and listen to the tiny voice within - the in-tution!

Drive with the wind, don't be driven!

SURFING NOT SUFFERING

Ever tried surfing? Standing on the surfboard and moving forward at the speed of the wave? It's thrilling waiting for the next big wave with your board ready. The bigger the wave the bigger the thrill!

Life is the biggest sea, its challenges the waves! Ride higher to gain more! The Pacific is deeper the Atlantic more turbulent, but both have waves. Some show it, some don't but all are essentially the same.

Janaki, with no legs, swam the British Channel. Patel, dumb & deaf, a young boy without both his arms, raises funds for the likes of him.

The waves are different, yet constant. And it is left for us to use the wave and feel the thrill! Those who don't, get drowned. They only keep complaining about improper life!

Right tools help YOU thrive better!

When a driver loses his feet, his life is crushed. He may be able to make do with an artificial foot but he will not be able to drive with confidence. His main tool that drives his life is his foot. The artificial foot creates tension and is risky, stressful and strainful while driving.
In real life too, if you have taken up a job for money without the right skills, you will go through similar problems. Oh yes, you can survive but to thrive, you need to equip yourselves with the right tools! Better the tools, better the success & easier it will be too.
If you are in tension and have a problem getting up in the morning to go to work, it only means that you are suffering from strain due to sub-optimal tools in the form of right skills.

Develop the right tools by investing time and energy on bettering your self! Learn to communicate with confidence with yourself and others. Make your life's Motto: To Better Your Best!

Right tools help YOU thrive better!

A driver has lost his foot! Along with his foot, his life too is crushed!

He can walk with an artificial foot but may not be able to drive with confidence. The moving foot is the main tool for him. The artificial foot creates tension and becomes a risk & strain for him in driving.

In real life too, if you have taken up a job for money without the right skills, you will go through the problems as mentioned above. We can survive but to thrive, we need to equip ourselves with the right tools! Better the tools, better the success & easier too.

If you are in tension and have a problem getting up in the morning to go to work, it only means that you are suffering from strain due to sub-optimal tools in the form of right skills.

Develop the right tools by investing time & energy on the self! Learn to communicate with confidence with self and others. Live with the motto of 'Better Your Best'!

CELEBRATED OR TOLERATED

A 15-feet branch stands confidently but a 15 feet pole attached to any tree will start sagging!
If you are stuck in a job that is not after your heart, you will be like the sagging pole. You will be filled with tensions and suffer from stress.

Anything which is riveted has limitations. Have you taken up the job because of the fat pay packet? Is it because of name/fame etc? These are all superficial, and if you chase them, you will end up in the lurch.

Nature makes sure that everything has a counter- balance. When we reach out we should make sure that we have an anchor. Roots are precious values! If we are firmly rooted then we are able do our best. If not, we end up being tolerated and tolerating ourselves
Realize your responsibility and your worth will be realized.

Concentrate on your roots for your efforts to bear fruit.

Firm roots lead to lasting growth. Be celebrated not tolerated!

PAIN - THE PRICE FOR SUCCESS

“My son cannot cross the road” said Suraj’s mother.  “My daughter cannot go alone to the school.  She needs her father or grandfather to drop her” said Shalini’s mom.  “Though in her teens, my daughter does not fold her blanket in the morning” said Tasleem’s father.

Today’s children are not disciplined, say many!  But, the truth is that many parents have moulded them into lazy, irresponsible and carefree individuals.  They think that their parental mission is to give them all that the child demands.  They put them into their comfort zones for nearly a decade or two and then they suddenly want them to do what they have not been doing.

Growth comes out of pain.  Thus, the so called underprivileged children have no problems crossing the road or going to any place on their own.  They are able to work for hours as their lifestyles help them develop stamina and resilience.  Failures do not create stress in them.

“I did not get them when young and thus I want to give may child all facilities” say many of these parents who pamper.  When their children resist a bit, they do the jobs themselves.  They do not persist enough due to conflicting emotions.  Result – over demanding children who later could become a nuisance to the self, the society and at home.  They avoid their duties, studies, deadlines give stress and even jump the red signal.

To be born, the mother & child need to go through pain.  A caterpillar has to painfully cut through the pupa to emerge as a butterfly.  An eaglet has to be pushed over the mountain to soar high.  The value of the rock increases when it goes through the chippings of the chisel & hammer to become a statue.

For a positive growth and to be in full bloom – pain is the price one needs to pay.  Trying to be in comfort zones is like going ahead in life with hand brake on!

ROUTE YOURSELF

Routes are something every Bangalorean is familiar with! Which route we take depends on the place we are going to. Some routes are so traveled, they look more like mud tracks than roads.

Traffic jams are something we are always trying to avoid! We sometimes take detours to avoid bad roads and heavy traffic!

That's fine as long as we are in town. What would you do if some one is very ill in Coimbatore and you had to go there? We all know that Hosur road is a nightmare to travel on! Would you take the Bombay highway, just because it is a nice road? A wrong route is a wrong purpose! So remember to choose the right route and to stick to it.

No matter how bad it may be, some things have to be done! We must be sure of our destination. Only then we can plan the route. Once the route is clear we have to travel on it.

The route may not be a good one, but one's destination is more important than a little discomfort.

No pain no gain - so know the pain to know the gain!

Imagine If…

If Sachin Tendulkar's father had said: "You will not touch the bat until you finish your 10th", or the Mother Superior had told the young Teresa: "Your job is to teach, and not to pick up girl children from the dustbins?" Would they have become what they went on to become?

In most cases, it is all about instinct. Our instinct to survive, to succeed and to prevail over obstacles, in very strong in all of us. We are all strong, we are all born to achieve, and achieve we will, if only we let our instincts guide us. A fish can and will swim, but a salt-water fish will suffocate and die slowly if it is put into fresh water. Steel giant Lakshmi Narayan Mittal did his graduation in Commerce, but went on to become an engineer. That's why Success is listening to one's inner voice. Develop your own 'intuition' - the tuition from within, and see how it transforms your winnability.

Procrastination - The Tsunami within You!

Those who experienced the Tsunami and those who merely saw its power of destruction on TV, would never like a similar thing to happen. The source, which arose from the bottom of the ocean, created a water wall of over 30', destroying all that came in its way.  A Tsunami cannot be controlled however, today, Tsunami detectors have been fixed to see that people are evacuated and saved.

The self inflicted Tsunami in our life is Procrastination! When we push things for tomorrow, it destroys people, their dreams, their aspirations and whatever be their goals.   It also arises from within and the culprit is the comfort zone. We can sense it but many do not do anything about it. And those who do not, pay a heavy price.

The company that was marketing Premier cars in India, to whom we had to book several years in advance - have since shut shop as they were complacent. Bajaj lived up to the changing trends, and sacrificed its scooter, keeping emotions at bay, to keep itself afloat.

Being in the comfort zone is always dangerous. Soft comfortable beds give rise to back aches and pampered children have a problem even to cross a road. Accept realities and be prepared to pay the price of success. Life is like a game of chess, one has to be in constant thinking mode about the next move. You relax and you get run over by the Tsunami within us.

Work on your self confidence, self image and self esteem to keep procrastination at bay!

Just think about what you could accomplish and how much better you would feel.

Feelings of guilt, anxiety and powerlessness are a result of procrastination!

Dr. Abdul Kalam - Towering above everyone!

Over 6000 students and 500 adults gave a thundering ovation in chorus, as Dr. Abdul Kalam began his speech at the Tennis grounds behind Vishveshwaraiah Museum on Oct 29. As soon as he raised his hands, as if by magic, there was an absolute pin drop silence.

Many distinguished gentlemen spoke before and after him but, as far as the audience, there was only one speaker that day. In the twenty minutes that Dr Kalam was at the podium, the audience literally did his bidding, repeating his statements, taking pledges, etc, unmindful of the searing sun. Dr Kalam has indeed come a long way from his humble beginnings and today has the ability to mesmerize the masses and classes with his speeches. What is it in him that makes him click?

1. He practices what he speaks and people like his habits which are pro-India.   While many are only working for the self, he has worked for India with a purpose.

2. He treated failures as temporary inconveniences and learning experiences

3. He always hanged on to his dreams like a champion and did not try to impress others with what he had and used.

4. He always went an extra mile and did what many other presidents could not.

5. He always stood by truth and honesty in adverse conditions and that created respect for him.

6. He is a learner; always open to change and having a positive approach, which attracts the same children which are difficult to handle by parents and teachers.

7. He has always sacrificed his individual self, for the sake of the nation being a super power.

Many thanks to Rtn. Raveen, who invited me and gave me an opportunity to share the magic of Dr Kalam. May his tribe increase!

ONE UP!

Development is a stage we all desire. Our country is developing fast, but China is developing faster. We are a great nation but our leaders are unable (unwilling?) to push the FAST FORWARD button.

The Chinese have replicated Honk Kong and have successfully been able to rapidly develop. There is less ego problem, no hesitation to learn. The only aim is to progress.  The focus, is on the country!  When leaders open their eyes to change and stop pulling each other down, only then can we see a change for the positive.

ONE UP! That is where we want to be. We look around and comment on the beauty found elsewhere, but expect beauty without our doing anything for it. What would be the speed of the car with its handbrake on?

YEARN, LEARN & EARN

Success can be summed up in just three words; YEARN, LEARN and EARN!

Success is a possibility and it is in your hands. Success begins with a wish. A wish that is so strong that you cannot see or think anything else. This is yearning!

What do you yearn for? Your mind has the potentiality of a million suns and ANYTHING is POSSIBLE.

Train your mind to yearn to be the best and you will find the way opens before you. Be the butterfly that seeks to shake off its cocoon. To spread your wings is natural but do you have the patience?

Learn the way; equip yourself to be the best. The sunflower waits for the sun and faithfully follows it. Like the sunflower, once you know what you need, keep it in sight. Don't lose sight of your goal.

The water makes its way through the toughest of paths. Patiently it carves a way for its course. The biggest of boulders, the hardest of terrain are softly carved into, making caves and glorious sights in search for fulfillment. What does it get? SATISFACTION!

Earn your right to be who you are! Earn self-respect; if you lose your self-respect then life is definitely not worth living! Earn in terms of love, commitment and honour, rather than in terms of money, power or status.

Position and fame will instead chase you if you yearn and learn the right things!

Why We Burnout?

Testing a BMW on the international standard NICE road
to Mysore, was the best way to experience it. An hour
out on the road the car stopped, the tank read EMPTY!
No time to fill the tank? When we rush through life
with not time to spare for the tiny but important
things in life, we pay a heavy price!
Are many living such busy lives? There is so much to
do and so little time. We hurry and scurry like mice
trying to get things done. We work over time, stay up
all night to complete the task. We have scurried all
our lives then, get thrown out, because we are
outdated!
Could we spare some time on the little things in life?
Squeeze those few minutes, to update ourselves and
keep in touch with the world around us?

COINCIDENCE

Vision ' Strategy ' Focus ' ACTION: After a complicated knee operation and consistent loss of form, many a sportsman would have called it quits. But Sania Mirza, true to her celebrity billing, got hungrier for success, and went on to notch out some memorable games against some of the best players in world tennis.

To be her best, she learnt from the best, and worked on it with missionary zeal. With the help of her trainer and father, she learnt to stick to her schedules without compromise, pulled herself together with grit and courage, and a positive and never-say-die attitude, and lo, her ranking improved dramatically. Sania is now in the knocking distance of breaking into the top twenty, and after that is breached, anything is possible in the future for a leaner, fitter, faster - and meaner Sania Mirza!

Moral of the story: Draw out your strategies, act on them, and work towards your goal, no matter what happens!

COINCIDENCE

Buoyancee badly wanted a place of it's own. Out of the blue, Anandashram offered us one. THAT IS A CONCIDENCE!

Life is full of these tiny little happenings.

Your awareness to these and cultivating a sense of gratitude is the best thing in life. You are in a crowded bus with a young child, someone gets up and gives you their seat - how do you feel? There were so many people in the bus but why should that particular person get up? Ever thought of it?

You have a problem and you overhear some casual talk - the answer to your problem lies in it! Has it happened to you? This means that GOD IS WITH YOU! We have loving parents who provide us with everything, but when we are not able to get something from them, how upset we get. Does this mean that they don't love us? Is there any way for parents to prove their love? So, how does God prove His love and presence to us? Through little coincidences!

The next time you have the urge and find a toilet, be sure He knows!

Build India Project: Lions International - Dist 324 D6 and SVC Bank have come offered to tie up with Buoyancee's Build India project. The project aims to identify and develop leaders for tomorrow among the youth. 10,000 budding leaders from over 50 high schools and colleges are already at work in Bangalore.

All schools and colleges are invited to take part in this project. Buoyancee will conduct free seminars at the school/college premises, or at their own premises. Many young participants, including from all over the State, as well as from Mumbai, have shown much interest in Buoyancee's transformational leadership programmes.

Better Indians, Better India

A 600 gms of Cotton costs Rs 10/- and an equal quantity of thread costs Rs 25/=. Both are Indian-made. A 600 gms of cloth costs Rs 90/-and a shirt of that weight costs Rs 250/-. All of this, Indian-made again. However, put a foreign brand on the same shirt and the price shoots up from Rs 750/- to Rs 2000/- and even more.

Marketers call it the brand effect. We too can work on ourselves to become brands, like Dhoni, Tendulkar, Amitabh. All that is required is to make up your mind and pursue it with passion and commitment.

Most of us have a poor self-image and underplay ourselves. That's why we end up as under-achievers. Foreigners and foreign brands, operate at a different level. That is why Colgate is costlier than Promise, and yet it sells more. Old Spice has more spice than the good old Godrej, and Ponds though pricey, is preferred to Wipro or Boroplus.

Work towards being an Airtel - desi, yet better, instead of Hutch/Vodafone. It's better to gain recognition first like Nirma and then free your arms, to expand outside. If quality is what we pay for, why can't we try and work on our own quality which will make our quality better and also of what we work on! Let us all work towards becoming proud Indians, producing best Indian brands. Even as a human being. That way, we will see less and less of bomb attacks in the future.

ARE WE IN-DEPENDENCE?

Sowmya, one of the trainers, asked us to draw a tree. Surprisingly, none of us had drawn roots. We concentrate more on the fruits rather than on the roots. It was an eye-opener. Are we tenacious like the octopus, stretching out our arms in all directions and grasping all we can reach, and never letting go? While most of us are guilty of being attached to the must-have entrapments - laptop, mobile, Zeiss eyeglass, flashy ID cards, the "trappings of success", are we real achievers in the true sense of the word? Can we stand before our conscience and say we have achieved real success?

Chitra Magimairaj reached the nationals in hockey, but was not content as she was not the best. She tried her hand at cricket but gave it up as she could not be the best. Today, after a few dedicated decades, she is # 1 in snooker/billiards. She wanted to be extraordinary in her sports field. She looked for meaning and purpose in life. She wanted to taste the true sweetness of achievement, which had a lasting impression on her and on the society. Only individuals with willpower and discipline can achieve easily what the run-of-the-mill cannot.

Choose Your Attitude

Other than to choose your attitude, there is no other freedom!

Do you earn to meet all your desires OR to contribute at least a portion of your earnings to society?

Do you choose friends for your advantage OR to build a cohesive team for universal good?

Do you work for recognition and applause OR for a purpose and a cause?

Do you act for comfort and gratification OR push yourself as gratitude for life?

Do you sulk over the past and complain OR work enthusiastically for a brighter future?

Our parents, teachers and primary care givers instill certain beliefs in us, which decide how we will choose this only freedom of ours! These beliefs make us to do things without thinking as they are embedded into our sub-conscious minds. Why we do what we do is dependent on our attitude & thinking. Many lead self-centered lives and only for material gains. We do not know what drives us and thus we have two extremes - Mother Teresa and Gandhiji or Veerappan and Bin Laden.

The choices we make determine what we are today and in the future, unfortunately, we are never trained how to choose. We are driven by societal mores, and do not follow the voice of our soul.

To be self-centered is hip, universal, whereas to work for the welfare of the society, is banished to the books.

But note, the only way to be happy, successful and have peace in life, is to learn to choose our attitude! Learn to celebrate FREEDOM!

This Ind. Day, win your Freedom!

Problem #1:

"I want to start this new project once I get confidence. I want to go out on the stage and perform, but I will do so once I get develop confidence." The problem here is similar to the chicken-and-egg syndrome. Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Procrastinate, and you will never get started. You will never get the confidence without which nothing concrete can be achieved. Confidence comes through action and not through putting off things, or dreaming! So all you have to do, is to go and just do it!

Solution #1:

Love for self gives courage to outgrow from the comfort zone and take risks. Only a mother who loves her sick son can sit next to him the whole night - because she loves him. Love yourself and you will have the courage to get out of your comfort zone, it will instigate you to take a risk and try something new - even though it may be scary.

Problem #2:

Neither my friends nor parents can give me confidence. They can only encourage me! People often wait for confidence to come from someone else, a parent/spouse or a friend. Don't confuse CONFIDENCE with ENCOURAGEMENT. Belief in self is Confidence. Encouragement will only give you the courage to try new things and the strength to persist until you build your confidence.

Solution #2:

Unity is strength. Have like-minded people in your team who help each other. This type of empowerment helps one achieve more. Failures get diluted and success gets augmented. While you cheer each other every week/month, you also develop team building/leadership skills.

This 60th year of Independence - declare your FREEDOM!

Leadership Matters

The twelfth son of a candle maker, Benjamin Fraklin did more things than one can even imagine. He was the first to start a circulating library, suggest a fire brigade system, a police station and launched the Pennsylvania School, now a University, and also discovered that electricity has two poles. Mahatma Gandhi threw away a lucrative legal practice and dedicated his life to the cause of freeing India from British rule.

While Seshan made the Election Commission to stand up to the all-powerful politicians, Rahul Bajaj rejuvenated his ailing scooter industry with the launch of Bajaj Pulsar, daring to decrease its scooter production.

The truly talented people are great observers of reality and believe in innovating, experimenting and trying out new things. They challenge routines and work towards possibilities rather than sulk over predictions. With their macro vision, they wade easily through the uncertainties confidently!

Over two-thirds of the Fortune 100 companies have disappeared. Only those who are able to think of multiple possibilities are able to thrive.

In today's changing scenario, the youth of India need to work on their mindset and acquire skill sets and techniques, to help make India a Superpower by 2020. India truly needs Leaders who communicate with Confidence and Enthusiasm!

Know What You Want

Visitor at hotel to waiter: "What is special today?"
Waiter: "How about chicken sandwich?"
Visitor: "No, I am a vegetarian."
Waiter: "Would you like Cheese sandwich?"
Visitor: "No, I have cholesterol."
Waiter: "How about sugar-sweetened sandwich and jam?"
Visitor: "No, I am a diabetic."
Waiter: "What else would you like to have?"
Visitor: "Plain bread and milk without sugar."

When we are clear as to what we want, it is easier to lead a better life. Same is the case with happiness.
We all want to be happy but we do not know what exactly makes us happy, or what precisely is happiness. Most of the time, most people don't know what really makes them happy, but we seek it all the time!

When we are clear, we are more specific and we get what we want in life. When we are clear that we want to buy shoes, all the advertisement for shoes start popping out. When we want to buy a house, we start seeing only these ads. Life supports clarity and focus.

Many have a problem being happy as they start going for those things which others say make them happy. Contemplate on what truly is happiness for you, start working towards it and simply chill! Success is guaranteed!

Society - Better or Bitter!

It was surprising to see a boy lapping up chips and cola, when his mother was saying, "I want to check your classes to see if it is going to help him?  I came here as my neighbour's son has improved a lot but you see, I want my son to enjoy and not get bored."  She had no problems giving junk food for her sonny boy, however, when it came to proven food for the mind, she was so choosy! She wanted to check the class out herself.

We have more food than necessary, more clothes too, however, many do not want to invest time, energy and money on the food for the mind that is not only beneficial but also conducive for our society.  It is evident that when we work on the mind, it has to develop, just like our muscles, which develop when we do physical exercises.

The way our society is after money and materialistic wants, it is all the more necessary that, we work more on the mind to have better ethics and enterprise in us. Otherwise, the main objective of getting education today, is not learning but earning! Can we invest more on our minds as - if you mind it, you could do it! Yes, have a better rather than a bitter society.

Be Uncomfortable to be Resilient & Successful

Gandhiji when thrown out of the train in South Africa became so uncomfortable with the issue that, he added more 'uncomfort' to reach towards freedom for himself and India.

Edison was so uncomfortable with the darkness, a phobia, which he just could not stand that, he decided to crystalise the bulb, come what may.

Today, many only work towards being more comfortable.  That is why the children with comfort have a problem crossing the road or even travel in a crowded bus.  They get Typhoid if they eat on the road, as they are all the time stuck to the bacteria free mineral water.  The natural immunity is kept away from them.

Pain is the price one has to pay for any gain.  The more the pain more is the gain.  Pain helps individuals to unleash their greatness; the way the hammer and chisel create great statues.  Pleasure & comfort only makes one lazy.  Mental preparedness is lacking in those who are all the time seeking comfort zones.

Just like the bulb fuses when the voltage is high, a man starts procrastinating and becomes inconsistent when they are all the time in comfort zones.  Thus, when problems come, they run away as it is not their comfort zone.  Is this why today's youth keep changing jobs?

While the companies are all the time giving comforts for retention, what they should be training the staff is to face the uncomfortable with confidence!
