Bangalore 16th July, 2012: The President of the Indian Vehicles Drivers’ Trade Union,Mr G. S. SadanandaSwamy, who is also the editor and publisher of the magazine, ‘BharathiSarathi’, has filed a case against JDS leader MrPanchalingaiah for illegal acquisition of government land.
The Lokayukata police had earlier arrested four retired officers from BDA for aiding Panchalingaiah in his illegal transactions by preparing fake documents and receiving compensation for the same. The arrested officers include Special Tashildar,K.Sadananda, Special Land Acquisition officer,B.R Krishnan, Revenue Inspector, Mr. Kempashivanaiah and Land Survey Officer,H.T Ramegowda.
Mr. Swamy had earlier given three private complaints to the special Lokayukta Court against MrPanchalingaiah for getting compensation against the fake documents. MrPanchalingaiah was arrested on 25th May 2012 by the LokayuktaDy. SP H.S. Manjunath and later taken into judicial custody on being proved of his involvement in one of the three cases pending against him.
The remaining two pending cases are under investigation by LokayuktaDy SPs Mr. S. Girish and Mr. Abdul Ahmed.
Praising the efforts of the Lokayukta, MrSwamy said, “It is because of the existence of an impartial body like the Lokayukta that people misusing their offices in the government are brought to book. We need to recognize and provide all the support to Lokayukta officials for the wonderful work they have been carrying out over the years.”
