Steve Jobs, Osama Bin Laden characters make a guest appearance

Hyderabad, September 14… ROOTS, a city based International School of Business & Management organised today a cultural programs on the occasion of Fresher’s Party — Aamanthran-2012 here in a city hotel today. The theme of the party was “Red & Black”. Two hundred students, faculty and staff of the colleges participated in the party. B. Shivadhar Reddy, Director of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) graced the occasion and inaugurated it by lighting the lamp.
The party marked with Student Ramp Walk over hundred students showcasing the ramp skills. Six students emerged victorious. They include: Mr. Keesari Karthik, Mr. Fresher; Ms. Ishwarya, Ms. Fresher; Mr. Suresh Vishwanath, Mr. Charming; Ms. Tejaswi, Ms. Charming; Mr. Faisal Mr. Personality; Ms. Varshika Ms. Personality. They were presented with Sashes. The Fashio show was choreographed by Ms. Nivedita, Model, Dancer (Kathakali) turned Choreographer. The Fashion Show had four sequences — Black & White, Casuals, Western, Ethnic/Bridal & Traditional.
The selection process to the pageant was very interesting. It was beauty with brains. The contestants were put many questions. Participants too gave very interesting spontaneous answers. It reflected the smartness of the many participants. In reply to a question What makes him different from others, Mr. Keesari Karthik replied that when life poses his 100 reasons to cry, i will find 1000 reasons to smile, he said. The participants applaued for his presence of his mind. In reply to a question if you were made an Education Minister of the State for a day, what one change would you do, Ms. Ishwarya, who adjudged as Ms. Fresher said she whould make current education systems more practical reflects the feeling of many youngters who despite of the best education in best college, they remain unemployable.
To another question to discribe himself in one word, one student replied “I am My Self”.
Speaking on the occasion Prof. B.P. Padala, Chairman of Roots said, the Freshers’ party as the name suggests is a party offered to the Fresher. It’s an introductory function for the new comers where they get to know about the adopted culture of the institution of which they are a part now after. The introductions happen in a friendly manner and to establish a friendly-cum-respectful relationship between the seniors and juniors. Our students and faculty toiled hard to put up a very good show, he said.
The “ROOTS” is just not an educational institution, but a conceptual education with major focus on offering careers along with qualifications, informed Prof. Padala.
The invitation of the Fresher’s Party was tastefully designed by the students themselves.
The welcome as and farewell song written and sung by Phaneendra, senior student set the mood for the party. ‘Aanandam, aanandam, ee bandham naa sontham. Ee friendship maake kavale. Mee thoti gadapina madhura kshanalu, nilichevennadu teepi gnapakalu’ was heard with rapt attention by one and all as it touched everybody’s heart.
Shashivardhan, Manager of Customer Relations Group sang a song Malli, malli idirani roju received a thunderous applause. So also Gaurav Sarkar’s two songs one in Hindi-“Gulabhi ankhen….” And English one “ I am yours too invoked lot of cheers from the audience. Prateek played Guitar. I have been playing Guitar for the past several years and gave many performances, he said. I learn myself playing Guitar, he informed. He is a member of a band “Roof Top Dogs”.
What is the use of Freshersher Party. What do you get out of it? When asked few students, Mr. Faisal said, I thought Ramp Walk was easy, but, I found it to be difficult than I imagined. Ms. Varshika, who emerged as Ms. Personality said, it increase her confidence. Ms. Riddhi, said time, money spent on Fresher’s Party never goes waste. We spend a lot, why not on Freshers Party. I made so many friends. It opens up everybody instantaneously. The collge becomes a like a single family. I loved it, she said.
The other highlights of the party were the innovatively executed three Skits. These Skits include: Mime Cricket (Humorous), Opening of a Bank (Thokkala Bank) and Judgement Day (Some of the Characters include: Osama Bin Laden, Steve Jobs of Apple, etc. and others). The entire audience burst into peel of laughter at the hilarious skits.
Also the occasion marked with Group Dances, Flash Mob Dances, Stunts and other. The DJ belting out a mix of popular chartbusters, the enthusiastic bunch of students had great fun and rocked till evening.
Students were in their casual best. They enjoyed to the hilt cheering their friends occasionally.
