The World 10K 2012 is all set to kick start on 27th May Sunday from Kanteerava Stadium Bangalore. Mr. Saleem , Additional Commissioner of Polic Traffic Bangalore , unveiled the race route map along with other dignitaries viz. Mr. Hugh Jones, Technical Director, Dr. Vivek Jawali, Fortis hospital, Medical partner and Mr.PN. shankar, Pracm International
Addressing the media Mr. Saleem , Additional Commissioner of Police said that it is a matter of pride for us to be associated for the fifth consecutive year, we have big task in controlling the traffic because the topography has changed. Will take all possible measures to cause less inconvenience to people who do not take part in this event, and urged the walkers to come bit early to ensure the parking is done at a appropriate place indentified by the orgonisors. It is going to be over all a 3 hour programme. We have arranged adequate number of traffic police to handle the traffic he added. Cubbon road will be completely blocked and Ambedkar road will be partially blocked while MG road will have full swing as usual.
Commenting on the event Dr. Vivek Jawali, Fortis Hospital Medical Partner said that we have arranged 6 ambulance on the track moving, sports drinks stations on the route at the 4km and 8 km point, 150 doctors, 1500 volunteers, 5 medical stations ( Including 2 base camps in Shree kanteerva Stadium & 3 Medical Stations on Route will be placed.

The Race Route: Assemble in Kanteerva Stadium and start form inside Kanteerva Stdium- Go out of the stadium and take right on Kasturba road- straight on Kasturba road towards Queens statue Jn. Move straight on M.G. road towards Anil Kumble Jn. BRV junction & Cubbon road and move straight towards Dickenson road, Ulsoor road, Begum Mahal Jn. Take U turn from a pre- determined spot on Ulsoor road and back towards Dickenson road, take left on Dickenson road towards Cubbon road take right on Cubbon road- keft towards Anil Kumble Jn. Form BRV Jn. Take right on M.G. road, Queens towards Minsk Square Jn. GPO, Dr. Ambedkar road till Gopala Gowda Circle- Take left inside Cubbon Park towards Kasturba road Jn. Go straight towards the main gate of Kanteerava Stadium, Athletic stadium and finish.
