CM inaugurates Adarsh College cultural program

SRN Adarsh College, celebrated World Tourism Day from 25th September by organizing an intercollegiate quiz on the theme - "Responding to the Challenges of Climate Change" for the students of Travel, Tourism & Hospitality Courses at both UG & PG Level.

The quiz competition was supported by the Department of Tourism, Government of Karnataka. 17 teams from different colleges participated in this event. Each team consisted of two members totalling upto 34 participants. Prof. M. Devendra, HOD, Dept. of Tourism and Hospitality and Dr. A. Nagarathna, Principal conducted the quiz.

In another event, more than 150 UG students participated in Tourism Run 2008 organized by Karnataka Tourism. The tourism run started at 8 am from Vidhana Soudha to Bal Bhavan and was flagged off by G. Janardhana Reddy, Minister for Tourism & Infrastructure Development.

Chief guests at the event included B. Sriramulu, Minister for Health & Family Welfare, R. Roshan Baig, MLA, Shivajinagar, Subir Hari Singh, IAS, Principal Secretary, Kannada & Culture, Information & Tourism.
An entertaining cultural event was organized by Karnataka Tourism to mark the conclusion of the World Tourism Day. The event was organized as part of UNWTO's theme for the year - responding to the challenge of climate change.

Chief Minister Shri. B.S. Yeddyurappa, inaugurated the celebrations. G. Janardhana Reddy, Tourism Minister handed over the Theme Tree Sampling to the CM. Other dignitaries who graced the event included MLAs, MLCs, and MPs. Prabhath Kalavidaru presented a dance ballet 'Abhignyana'. 

Adarsh Vidya Sangh:
Adarsh Vidya Sangh is a 37 year old educational institution, which from a humble beginning, has grown immensely and today offers eleven distinct courses from pre-university course to post graduate level. 

The institution is launching a sprawling new campus, located near Ramnagar where it plans to start a Deemed University which would integrate all faculties. It has partnered with German University to offer international tie up courses at UG and PG levels.
