Plans to make 5th Block model locality

Installing a 66 KVA transformer in 3rd Block, Jayanagar will resolve the power crisis in the entire Jayanagar area. Stating this, Mukund, president, Jayanagar 5th Block residents welfare association, said his association had been demanding Bescom to install a transformer at the earliest and urged BN Vijaykumar, MLA, Jayanagar to intervene in the matter.

Among other issues that require immediate attention was developing a water harvesting park at 40th Cross and opening of Bangalore One integrated citizens service centre. The association had staged a protest against levy of property tax under CVS system and celebrated its silver jubilee recently by planting 600 saplings in Jayanagar, Mukund said. He said the association believed in working with the MLA to make Jayanagar 5th Block a model locality in the city, and said it was the cherished dream of its founder-president, late Markande Gowda.

JP Nagar residents welfare association secretary, Udupa, remarked that his association was just two years old and would make best use of the experience of veteran associations like Jayanagar 5th association, to serve its citizens better. Bhaskar Murthy, secretary, Jayanagar 5th Block association, thanked the Manandhi Samskruthi Sadana for providing the hall free of cost for conducting a free heart check up camp.
