Chemists & Druggists AGM

The All India Organization of Chemists & Druggist's 16th Annual General Meeting was held on 6th & 7th September 2008 at Agra. The organization unanimously elected Sri.Jaganath S Shinde as their President.
Sri. Jagannath Shinde held the position of Secretary of the organization for over 7 years. Prior to that he was the President for 8 years and General Secretary for 9 years of Maharashtra State Chemists & Druggists Association (MSCDA)

Mr. Jagannath S. Shinde has done extraordinary work for the organization. He had initiated dialogues with the manufacturers and government to have medicines tp be sold at MRP inclusive of all taxes. The success of his mission was realized on 2nd Oct 2006, medicines are sold all over India at MRP inclusive of all taxes.
He had provided support to the members of the organization to be free from the complex legal framework of NDPS

With the organizational support, Mr.Shinde had ensured to have the medicines be taxed at 4% Value Added Tax (VAT) , thus bringing in immense benefit to all the consumers of the country.

He was instrumental in organizing Continuous Educational Programmes for Pharmcists. This programme acted as a link between Doctors and Medicine consume public. Over 500 pharmcists have benefited from  this initiative.

He has actively participated in fund raising programmes of the Organization in the times of natural disasters like earthquakes, flood & situations like war, etc., Recently an amount of Rs.21 lakh (consisting of Rs.1 lakh each from each state) has been donated to the Bihar Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

Further, he has organized programmes on behalf of the Organization spreading awareness about diseases like HIV, Cancer, etc. and availability of life saving drugs at reasonable prices.

He presently has started a movement to oppose the mall culture & chain shoppee system
