Intercollegiate cultural fest at RV Dental
The state level intercollegiate cultural fest ‘AMBARA’ organized by Government Dental College and Research Institute Bangalore took off on a grand scale earlier this week at the R.V. Dental College campus and auditorium. Dr. S. Ramanand Shetty, Vice Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences was the chief guest. The inauguration was followed by the prelims of many, on stage and offstage events. The finals for the antakshri as well as group song were also conducted at the RVDC auditorium. The first day of the event showed an overwhelming response from the participating teams.
The chief guest praised the colleges from Bidar and Bagalkot who had traveled a distance of over 800 kilometers to be a part of this event. The G D C Alumni president Dr. S. Jagdish suggested that there should be an inclusion criteria for students based on not just sports quota but also a new cultural quota. Rajyotsava Awardee and Principal of RVDC also spoke and also sang the NADAGEETE along with his staff members at the function. The vote of thanks was rendered by Dr. C.N. Shastry, organizing secretary for the golden jubilee celebrations. The inauguration was followed by very exquisite dances by the third year students and interns of GDCRI Bangalore. The festival will conclude on Saturday, Sep 20.
