South India's biggest show on Bollywood hits

Saturday, Sep 27, Bangalore will play host to south India's biggest show on Bollywood's golden oldies comprising hit numbers from the 1940s to the 1970s, viz. Gata Rahe Mera Dil, organised at Chowdiah Memorial Hall, by Divine Mother Society (DMS). The songs would be from the films of Guru Dutt, Raj Kapoor, Raj Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Pradeep Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Madhubala, Nutan, Nargis, Meena Kumari, and sung by the greats, Mohammad Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh and Geeta Bali.

The funds collected from the show will be used to provide free tuitions to poor students in Bangalore, according to the organizers. DMS is already involved in a big way in the field of healthcare and education. Founded in Oct 1988 under the inspiration and guidance of Sri Kamakshi Baba (Sri ES Govardhan), Divine Mother Society runs free medical clinics, dental camps, counseling for cancer, sound therapy, care and treatment for leprosy patients, etc.

Songs will be rendered by Anil Bajpai from Mumbai,  Nayan Shah from Calicut, Surojit Guha from Bangalore, Sangeeta Melekar from Mumbai, Jaya Rajagopal and Anitha Santhanam from Chennai. The compere is Premkumar is from Mumbai

About the show, the organizers said viewers will also get to see video clips and stills of the songs featured and the singers match the best talent in the country.
