Come September, big opportunities await the small industry of Karnataka. From September 24-28, 2008, all roads lead to Whitefield, Bangalore for the small entrepreneur, for the Bangalore International Trade Fair. The fair will offer a wide spectrum of business opportunities covering almost all segments of the small industry, in particular, food processing, technology, automobiles and auto components, gems and jewelry, environmental engineering and pollution control, silk and textiles, handicrafts, coir, wine, tourism, horticultural products, automobiles, consumer electronics and consumer durables, lifestyle products and hospitality.
The minimum booking space is 9 sq. metres and the stall rent is Rs 6,000/- per sq. metre.
The Commissioner for Industrial Development & Director of Industries & Commerce, Government of Karnataka has agreed to provide a grant for the small scale industries.

Small scale industrialists of Karnataka who wish to take part in BITF will get a subsidy of Rs 10K. In an official release, the Visvesvaraya Industrial Trade Centre has informed the Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) that the steering committee meeting held on June 26, 2008 gave the green signal for extending subsidy. “The Commissioner for ID and Director of Industries & Commerce has agreed to give a subsidy of Rs 10,000/- per stall of 9 sq. mtrs for the first 10 stalls booked through KASSIA,” the release said. A sum of Rs one lakh has been released to VITC and the amount will be released after verifying the units’ proof of participation, the release added.
If you wish to grab this subsidy offer, you better hurry, for the trade fair will be held in a few days from now, i.e. from Sep 24-28, 2008. In this case, haste does NOT make waste!
