BNV charms Swami Veereshananda Saraswati

Jayanagar MLA BN Vijayakumar’s residence is a full house at any time of day with residents besieging his house with their grievances, but on Thursday, he had a special guest calling on him. Swami Veereshananda Saraswathi from Ramakrishna Vivekanda Ashrama, Tumkur called on him and gave him a pep talk to him on children’s welfare, students, and offered a special Arathi and blessings.

The Swamiji expressed his happiness at seeing the joint family culture in his house and also heard a 7-year-old girl singing a few kirtanas. The Swamiji was so overjoyed with her singing that he complimented her as a young Subbalakshmi in the making. He also presented a book on Swami Vivekananda to Vijayakumar.

Responding to the Swami’s enquiries, Vijayakumar dwelt at length about his plans for Jayanagar, and his pet projects viz. a vegetable market at Banashankari opp. BSK Temple, a commercial complex with all the amenities such as good toilet facility, parking zone for more than 2000 cars and two wheelers, community hall, bus stand, parks, etc. 

The Swamiji also shared some of his experiences during his foreign visits, and his interactions with Italians, Spanish and other westerners. He also invited Vijayakumar for the celebration of Swami Vivekananda’s birthday and appealed to him to arrange donations for the ashram’s upcoming Project, the Universal Temple of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna & Vivekananda Auditorium. All donations enjoy IT exemption.
