Price hike neither good nor bad!

Sir,
The recent hike in prices can be viewed both positively and negatively. The day before the price was hiked, there was a huge traffic jam at every petrol bunk! People rushed to the nearest petrol bunk to fill their tanks full of fuel to beat the impending price rise.

While this caused a lot of inconvenience to the vehicular and pedestrian traffic, we also saw a positive impact. Because of the rising prices, some people started preferring a cheaper mode of transport. While some students cycled to their school, the office-goers did likewise to reach their office. There may even be a demand for cars powered by electricity among the affluent sections of society. These vehicles are eco-friendly, and do not pollute the environment. So all said and done, one cannot really say with full conviction that the price rise is only good, or only bad.
