Toilets in all parks, playgrounds: BNV

Every park and playground in Jayanagar assembly constituency will be provided with a toilet, promised BN Vijayakumar, MLA at a felicitation ceremony organised by Jayanagar 5th Block Residents Welfare Association on Monday, June 2, at JSS Hall. Sri D.V. 

Sri B.N. Garudachar, Retd. DGP, Karnataka presided over as the chief guest. Sri D.V. Siddalingappa, President of Bangalore Sharana Sahitya Parishat, Bangalore district presented him with a shawl, while representatives of several residents associations also joined in felicitating him. Sri G.M. Agadi, President of the Association, welcomed the guests.

In his introductory remarks, Sri T.S. Krishnamurthy, recalled Vijayakumar's school days in Magadi, his birthplace and informed the audience that he completed his engineering degree in Bangalore. Vijayakumar For a brief period he worked as an engineering consultant and like other members of his family joined the RSS movement.  Later on, he was enrolled into BJP activities, where he worked as General Secretary of Bangalore Urban District and participated in the famous Srinagar Flag hoisting movement. At present, he was serving the party as city unit president for the past 11 years, he said.

On his electoral record, Krishnamurthy informed that after losing the previous two assembly elections by a narrow margin, Vijayakumar had bounced back by claiming the Jayanagar seat from the Congress, with a record margin of 23,000 votes - the highest winning margin for this prestigious constituency.

In his thanksgiving speech, Vijayakumar appealed to the people to extend their support to his party and said as the city unit president, he had the additional responsibility of repeating the success in the forthcoming BBMP elections.

B. Bhaskar, Secretary, appealed to all associations to inform their grievances so that they could collectively take it up for redressal. The meeting concluded with vote of thanks by B. Muddalagiriyappa, vice-president.
