When police block the traffic!
The Traffic Police are supposed to ease the traffic movement but they are blocking the smooth flow of vehicular traffic with an intention to grab the old vehicles and stop potential “suspects”, in every nook and corner of the city. This they do by standing in the middle of the road, which poses a serious hazard to other motorists, especially senior citizens. Is there no other way to keep an eye on curbing the use of old vehicles, and enforce traffic rules?
Ask any motorist and he will tell you that it is not so much about enforcing traffic discipline, but about the “race” for reaching the “targets” for traffic fines. Or perhaps the cops are on the lookout for making a fast buck for the new year…
Says Akash, an employee of Accenture, “If the police show the same zeal in regulating traffic in places where the vehicular traffic is more, we will be able to reach our destination faster. The police should concentrate more of their energies on easing the smooth flow of traffic at regular traffic bottlenecks.”
