Mystery of housebreaks solved in HAL
The mystery behind a spate of housebreaks in HAL Township has been cracked by the police, following the arrest of one Harish.
According to the HAL police, the accused used to iron cloths in the Central Township which gave him easy access to the locals and knowledge of their day-to-day routine. Using this knowledge he used to break into locked houses and do away with valuables and money, along with some thieves from Sanjaynagar.
Police recovered valuables worth Rs 2.8 lakhs from the accused who had pawned them with pawnbrokers. With the arrest, police have solved ten cases of housebreaking in and around HAL Township.
However, Marathahalli continues to be a haven for house thefts and police suspect the culprits to be those returning after seeing the night shows in nearby theatres.
