Vision Thru' Eyes of Technology

Technology adds to one’s vision, we all know that. Now, Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled is using IT to “give vision” to the visually impaired and the differently abled, through the launch of its project, TechVision – Vision Through the Eyes of Technology”. The project will be launched on Saturday to mark its 11th anniversary.

The Trust provides mid-day meals to 35,000 school children in 150 schools, with partial support from the Government.education, shelter to 200 visually impaired and physically challenged people and students from the economically weaker section of the society, and delivers integrated education to 453 school children and training by 22 well-qualified teachers after the regular school hours, at its own cost.

In order to raise funds for its various activities, Samarthanam has tied up with Big Bazaar to offer tax incentives to shoppers who donate for its cause. To be a donor-shopper, you need to buy provisions/apparels/products worth Rs 2800 at Big Bazaar, and you will be given a tax exemption receipt for Rs.3000 which will entitle you for a 50% tax benefit amounting to Rs 450. Interested should remit the amount online to ICICI Bank A/c No. 005301026969 favouring Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled and inform them over email. Big Bazaar Gift vouchers will be delivered to you anywhere in the country.
