15,000 aspirants for LLB
Around 15,000 law aspirants will fight for a total number of 700 LLB seats available in the seven National Law Universities, according to sources at the Bangalore-based National Law School. The first ever Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is scheduled for May 11 and applications for the test are already being issued.
The proportion of candidates to seats is not just a straight forward question of 15000 against 700, for you have to factor in the reservation of seats which varies from one university to another. While some law schools have reservations for SC/ST students, other are extending reservation to OBC students also.
