Experts speak at Bengaluru Film Fest
What makes documentaries tick?
For film buffs at the Bengalooru International Film Festival earlier this week, it was time to study, introspect and re-appraise the making of documentaries. Swathi, producer and maker of audio and video documentaries, co-organised the seminar on documentary film making. Sri Lingadevaru Halemane, writer and documentary film maker dwelt on the need for documentary films in the present scenario, and B.M. Hanif, chief correspondent Prajavani, Mysore Bureau spoke on documentary films and policies. This was followed by an address on ‘Role of documentary films in Wildlife and eco conservation’ by Praveen Bharghav, documentary film maker of “Wild Life First”. The session was moderated by eminent director T.S. Nagabharana.
In the next session, Mr. Sudhir Nadgaonkar, General Secretary for the Federation of Film Society of India spoke about the federation completing fifty years and the programmes which the society will be undertaking. Ms. Patrizia Raveggi, Director Italian Cultural Institute, New Delhi spoke about Italian films being encouraged in India. Ms. Malathi Sahai Former Director of International Film Festival India referred to film festivals getting better appreciation from the audience. Ms. Aruna Vasudev, former Director OSIAN Asian Film Festival spoke on Indian films being appreciated world wide.
