Cauvery Handicrafts Exhn in J'nagar
Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd (KSHDC) is holding an exhibition at M/s Rajalakshmi Kalyana Mandira, 46th Cross, 8th Block, Jayanagar, Bangalore-82, from Jan 2-14, 2008 presenting handicrafts and handcrafted textiles crafted by select artisans from Karnataka.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Smt. Neeraja Rajkumar IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to Government of Karnataka. The exhibition offers a gilt-edged opportunity to directly market their products to customers. The exhibition is sponsored by the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textile, Government of India.
A live demonstration will be presented by a few craftsmen at the exhibition to give the customer an insight into the crafts creation.
‘Cauvery’, the trade name of Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd., has been popular worldwide for marketing intricately crafted rich handicraft artifacts made by the master crafts persons of Karnataka at 13 Craft Complexes across the State.
Estd 1964, KSHDC promotes the traditional arts and crafts of Karnataka, and has 12 sales outlets in the name of Cauvery, at Bangalore, Mysore, Mangalore, Hubli, Chennai, Secunderabad, Kolkata and New Delhi.
The Corporation has achieved Rs. 36.81 crores of sales during the financial year 2006-2007 and generated a net profit of Rs. 3.20 crores. The Corporation has been consistently making profit for the last three years and wiped out accumulated losses.
