Vaaskamal

"Vaaskamal", God's Own Child, completes 12 years of meritorious charity service to the poor and the needy  on December 12, 2007. This charity outfit of the Kamath Family of Kanhangad and Kochi came into being this day in 1995. Their priority has always been  health care of the poor and economically backward people. Their second objective has been to serve the cause of  education  such as through scholarships to the poor students. Vaaskamal's services have been lauded by the Lions Club, the  Rotary Club, Residents' Associations and Federations, Mitra Mandalis etc. Vaaskamal has grown in stature  especially in the last five years, thanks to its work being acknowledged  widely by the public and the media..

Major  achievements
Vaaskamal has been providing Free Medicines and Life saving drugs, Consumer Products, Blankets, Bed Sheets, Sarees, Curtains, Clothes etc. to 5 Vraddhashrams, 6 Blind and Physically handicapped Children' Schools, 3 big orphanages, 1 School for the Handicapped at Yelagiri Hills,  one  1000-  strong Poor and Sick children Institution  at East Garo Hills in Meghalaya, , the Karunalaya Orphanage and Old age home at Narsipura,  the community's  Shirali Maha Ganapathi Temple Dispensary and Laxmi Venkatesh Temple at Kanhangad, besides to  many poor families in and around Chikkaballapura, Muddenahalli  and Krishnagiri (Tamil Nadu)

They have also conducted more than 250 Free Medical camps wherein  we provided  Free Medicines, ECG, Consultation and follow-up treatment. To celebrate the completion of 12 years of their  service, they proposed  to conduct  various  competitions for Juniors and Seniors  in schools in drawing,  quiz, dance, singing, etc with attractive prizes.  Awards will be given to all participants including their  supporters  such as  all doctors .Presentation of awards will be held on 25th December 2007 at 4.00 pm at Dwarakanath Bhavan, Basavanagudi .
