Placements at IIM hit a record high

If you’re from IIMB, the world’s in your pocket. This year, the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) hit a record high in placements, with the entire batch of 249 students getting placed in four days flat. Over 100 big-ticket companies gobbled up the young talents in double-quick time.

The fattest pay packet, one assumes, is in investment banking and consultancy, the hot picks for students this summer. As many as 68% of the students accounted for investment banking, while 17% opted for management consultancy.

Also, more IIMB students are going abroad this year compared to the previous year. A record 110 students are going abroad for a two-month internship. And girl students, too are flying high. More than 40% of the girls are going abroad to intern in investment banking and management consultancy firms.
