Unique Retail Knowledge-building seminar series for first time in India

If Retail is king, RAMMS, is the king maker. RAAMS, India’s leading end-to-end retail consultancy provider is organizing a retail knowledge-building seminar on Nov 23, at Taj West End, Bangalore where the theme will be: ‘Get Ready For Wal-Mart : How to thrive in the new global retail scene!’.

The seminar will de-mystify the functioning of the world’s largest retailer and throw light on its unique business processes. The target audience are retailers, brands, manufacturers, professionals from logistics, POS, advertising agencies and the IT community.

Speaking on the announcement, R Kannan, President RAMMS India said, “The Seminar series (which will be held in Mumbai and New Delhi, apart from Bangalore) will put forward a positive perspective on international best practices in retail, using Wal-Mart - the leader in the domain, as the standard.” He further added, “Looking at the mushrooming growth in the retail industry and heading of the leading global retailers to India, this seminar series would prove to play a pivotal role in assisting the Indian retailers, brands manufacturers and professionals associated with the industry to gain the apt knowledge and prepare themselves for the contemporary scenario.”

Apart from the focus on Wal-Mart, the participants can look forward to what the organizers call as “customized company specific sessions on Private Branding, the new power in Retail”.

As Kannan elaborated, “The private brand goods and services are becoming an integral part of the Indian retail landscape, and more and more retailers are looking into private brands as part of their core retail strategy.” Mr John A Torella, of JC Williams Group, will deliver a lecture on the need for private brands and the keys to their success, to benefit willing companies.

The main topics that will be covered at the seminar include the Wal-Mart culture, financials, operations, technology and logistics, supplier relations, real estate merchandising and brands, advertising and e-commerce.
