There are schools and schools - and there is Innisfree House School in JP Nagar. People will go to any lengths to get their children admitted here.
Earlier this week, when the school authorities announced they would be accepting admissions for kindergarten for the next academic year, as usual people lined up before the school overnight, with bag and bedding in tow, braving the night chill, and even rain. Nowhere in Bangalore you'll find this situation, people wait like how hardcore cricket fans wait the previous day to buy tickets. This, remember, for kindergarten, and Pre-nursery!
The school had announced that admissions would be on first-come-first-serve basis, and therefore no one wanted to take a chance. Touched by the overwhelming response, the school authorities issued tokens to the parents and assured them that seats would be allotted as per the tokens issued, but even this did not deter the parents. Eventually, the school management arranged some chairs and a shamiana for the waiting parents.
It's a testimony to the reputation of the school, which is considered to be one of the best in the city.
