Koramangala.com launches Yelagirihills.com

“Eight years is a long time for a portal to have survived in cyberspace and what makes our success even more gratifying is that we’ve never ever had any funding of any sorts.” It will be a long weekend this week for Koramangalans, Balbir Singh and Amrit Sethi, the husband-wife founders of Koramangala.com, Bangalore's most popular website. Saturday, Dec 16 is the website's 8th anniversary, and on this day, the enterprising duo will launch another website, Yelagirihills.com.

“That Koramangala.com has achieved a fair amount of success and popularity is well-known and for us to launch another website is further proof that we know how things tick on the Internet," says Balbir Singh. "Eight years is a long time for a portal to have survived in cyberspace and what makes our success even more gratifying is that we've never ever had any funding of any sorts," he adds.

The theme of the website www.yelagirihills.com is 'Just Relax!' and that is what Yelagiri Hills is all about - a small hill-town and an ideal weekend retreat. The interesting thing is the proximity - just a 3-hour drive from Bangalore and most suitable for those longing to get away from the chaos and madness of the city.

“For the last 3 years, we've been doing reservations for some of the hotels at Yelagiri and our experience is that Yelagiri is gradually becoming popular as a weekend destination. So we decided to create this website and link it from Koramangala.com from where we can drive traffic to the new portal," says Balbir Singh.

By launching Yelagirihills.com, Koramangala.com has worked out another revenue model for the portal. "We've earned a bit from Yelagiri Hils in the past, and we are hopeful to cash-in on the popularity of this tiny hill-station," says Balbir Singh.
