How a Pizza Can Help the Needy
A pizza can do a lot of good, too. Bite into one, next week and you will feel real pleasure, not just of the gastronomic kind. For instance, the Rs 1,200/- you spend for 2 family pizzas (enough for 4) will go to meet the food, education and shelter expenses of a physically challenged person for one month.
Jayanagar-based Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, have turned market savvy – for a good cause. Starting Sep 24-30, they have announced a Samarthanam Charity Pizza Week, with the support of Pizza Hut, Domino’s Pizza and Pizza Corner. Their target: to collect an order of 1,000 family pizzas, and generate enough funds to meet the roti, kapda and makaan expenses of the visually impaired and physically challenged persons.
Recently, they had given away donor passes for Ram Gopal Varma’s AAG at Inox and PVR, and raked up revenues sufficient enough to take care of fifty physically challenged children for one month.
