Banker's suicide @ B'gudi

ING Vysya's CMD summoned

The National Commission for Women (NCW) will issue summons to the C&MD of ING Vysya Financial Services with regard to the suicide of their employee Shailaja Praveen. Stating this after visiting the company's Basavanagudi branch, NSW southern region in-charge Nirmala Venkatesh, also demanded the custody of the branch manager Bharath, who was named in the complaint filed by the deceased's father. "The bank's statements on the case are far from convincing giving rise to further suspicion. It is also surprising as to why the bank has not suspended Bharath. They should immediately inform his whereabouts to the police and produce him before them within 48 hours," she demanded.

According to police, Bharath has been absconding since. He had not reported for work and his house was found locked.

On Friday, 24-year-old Shailaja, a team leader with ING Vysya, had committed suicide by hanging at her residence. Sexual harassment is suspected to be the reason for the suicide. Police had taken her colleague Prashanth into custody.
