JD(S) offers leadership trg for Dalit youths

SC/ST Wing Karnataka Pradesh Janata Dal (S) is organizing a free leadership training to Dalit youths on Aug 31-Sep 1. Five members each from 224 assembly constituencies overall will be trained at the program and interact with officials from various departments such as child and women welfare, education department, KHB, co-operative society, and party workers. Sri BB Ningaiah, former Minister and president, State SC/ST Wing, JD(S) will preside, a “Through this programme, we want to extend awareness about the facilities extended by our Government to Dalits among people living in rural areas, such as loans for housing, education, agriculture, co-op societies loans, reservation in colleges, jobs, schemes pertaining to child and women welfare, and SC/STs,” explained Y. Nidagal Ashok Kumar, organizing secretary for State SC/ST Wing. “As politicians, it is our primary responsibility to ensure that the benefits reach the people they are meant for.”
