At Jayarama Seva Mandali

Sri Jayarama Seva Mandali will open a Centre for Performing Arts, and classes in Carnatic Music (vocal) will be held from Sep 6, 2007.

Vidwan Kamal Kumar, BE, MA in Carnatic Music, and disciple of Sangeethakalanidhi Vidwan RK Srikantan, will conduct the classes. He has vast experience of over 2 decades in teaching and preparing students for various examinations conducted by the Govt. and other organizations. There is no age bar for those wishing to enroll for the classes. Students will be prepared for junior and senior examinations conducted by Govt. and other organizations.

The fees payable is Rs 200 per month, and the classes will be held twice a week.

The centre recently celebrated its silver jubilee and is rendering yeoman service in the sphere of cultural, social, spiritual and religious activities.

Book on Ramayana: As part of Ramanavami celebrations this year the Mandali had arranged discourses on Srimad Valmiki Ramayana popularly known as Adikavya. Fifteen enchanting topics were identified and eminent scholars delivered lectures on these topics. All the discourses have been compiled and published in the form of a book, titled Baaligondu Belaku – Sri Ramayana Drishti, edited by Prof. G. Venkatasubbiah.
