Jagruti Vedike to provide free edn. to poor

It was a fitting finale for the Jagruthi Nagarika Vedike's concluding summer camp, with a large gathering numbering over a thousand witnessing a spell binding performance from 350 children, at the MES grounds opposite Telephone Exchange, 5th Block, Jayanagar. Chief guest Sri Ramalinga Reddy, former Education Minister and MLA, Jayanagar, gave away the trophies to the winners. Chairman of the Vedike and former Corporator, N. Nagaraju presided over the function. Sri Somashekar, former Corporator and BJP leader, DCP (South), Alok Kumar, graced the function as special invitees.

Vedike functionaries K.P. Krishnamurthy, President, Keshav Kumar, Secretary, Venkat Narayan Vice President, Rajappa, Joint Secretary and Subramanya, Organising Secretary chaired the meet.

Three months ago, Jagruthi Nagarika Vedike had organised a successful music programme of music director Aswath, and now aims to provide free education to the poor and needy children, and conduct free medical camps and seminars on various subjects.

Earlier, Sri Ramalinga Reddy and N. Nagaraju gave away free wheel chairs to the handicapped youth. The organizers also arranged for free food to all the participants. The organizers provide free breakfast to all the participant on all the days of camp. Yoga, painting, arts and crafts, personality development and awareness programmes, sports activities such as karate, basketball, volleyball, kho-kho, music and dance, etc were taught at the camps.
