Government unveils Bangalore IT.biz 2010

Karnataka's flagship ICT event slated for October 28-30, 2010

The Government of Karnataka and STPI Bangalore today unveiled the thirteenth edition of the State's flagship ICT event, Bangalore IT. biz 2010 with a slew of new initiatives in keeping with the expectations of the industry. Internationally acclaimed as India's premier ICT event, Bangalore IT.biz 2010 promises to maintain its focus as an important B2B platform to spur an exchange of business across stakeholders and identify emerging opportunities in the ICT sphere.

The three day event slated for October 28-30, 2010 at The Lalit Ashok, Bangalore will comprise of Multi-Track Conferences, International Exhibition, Partnering, CEO Conclave, IT Export Awards, Vision 2020 Leadership Series, Rural IT Quiz and Golf Tournament. The event will be inaugurated by Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Hon'ble Finance Minister, Government of India.

Bangalore IT.biz 2010 with its core theme "Billion Strong: Empowered by ICT" is poised to capture major developments sweeping the country today. This year, the Conference Tracks will cover various Topics on e-Governance; Energy & Environment; Embedded Technology; GIS; IT Application in Aerospace, Nuclear & Defence; Animation, VFX, Gaming & Comics (AVGC) and Remote Infrastructure Management Services (RIMS). A special session will focus on the Findings of the Task Force on The Future of Broadband. Plenary Sessions are organized on MSMEs; ICT at the Bottom of the Pyramid by NASSCOM and Cloud Computing. Vision 2020 Leadership Series will be addressed by leading Industry Captains and Policy Makers.

Leading Organisations like Airtel, BSNL, Capgemini, Cisco, DELL, HCL, IBM, Infosys, Intel, ISRO, Microsoft, SAP India, Siemens, TCS, Texas Instruments, Toshiba, Wipro and leading States like Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Orissa, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal have confirmed participation. The Event will turn into a major Networking & Business Platform with the participation of over 125 expert Speakers, 1000 Delegates, 125 Exhibitors, 5000 business visitors, 06 Countries, 12 States representing over 750 Organisations.

A major delegation from Israel of over 25 Members is participating in the Event led by Mr. Aaron Mankovski, Chairman, High Tech Industry Association, Israel, who is a leader in cutting edge high technology areas. Speaking on the occasion, Smt. R. Rajalakshmi, Director, STPI Bangalore announced a special scheme for STPI members to facilitate their participation and an Exclusive Cluster of 50 Small & Medium IT Companies from Tier II and Tier III Cities is being created in the Exhibition. Leading STPI Member Companies from various States are also expected to participate.
InterlinX, the web-based Partnering Tool is being introduced for the first time. It will enable all the registered participating Delegates & Exhibitors to plan and fix one-to-one business meetings during the Event to explore new business opportunities.

Industry Associations like ABAI, CLlK, ELCIA, FISME, FKCCI, ISA, MAlT, NASSCOM and TiE are supporting the Event in Exhibition and developing Conference Programme, viz; Embedded Technology Track by ISA, ICT at the bottom of the Pyramid by NASSCOM, MSME's Growth Drivers of Indian IT by FISME and Animation, VFX and Gaming by ABA!.

International Exhibition will attract participation from Software & Hardware; Telecom; Embedded Technology; Frontier Technologies (Aerospace, Nuclear, Defence); States of India and R&D Organisations. The Exhibition will have Pavilions of STPI Members; MAlT; FISME and KEONICS Associates.

After the resounding success of the VESSS Programme last year, the 3rd YESSS programme during the event will attract best of the young innovators to meet the potential investors and IT professionals. The programme is developed by TiE and STPI supported by KITVEN and IBM Global Entrepreneurship Programme.

STPI IT Export Awards, National IT-MSME Excellence Awards by FISME and Rural BPO Special awards will be presented by Shri Gurudas Kamat, Hon'ble Minister of State, Communications & IT, Govt. of India.

Rural IT Quiz in its 11th year is India's biggest and unique Forum where more than 1.4 million Students compete for the coveted Award. Since last year, this Quiz has assumed National character where Rural Students compete. This year, there is a Special Award created for Students from North-Eastern States and State of Jammu & Kashmir. Overall, 2.0 million Students are expected to compete.

The other highlights include the IT Power Golf Tournament and CEO Conclave which will facilitate networking of IT captains.
