Dr. Nagendra Swamy promoted as the President, Manipal Health Enterprises

Manipal Health Enterprises, one of Asia’s largest healthcare management groups providing quaternary healthcare services, today announced the promotion of Dr. Nagendra Swamy  as President, Manipal Health Enterprises. Dr. Swamy’s contribution to the organization has been immense. Ever since he joined the Group in 2005, he has been at the forefront of striving to achieve clinical excellence in all healthcare delivery services for the group. His contribution in achieving a quantum jump in revenues in last 5 years is highly laudable.

Dr. Swamy will be overseeing the overall development of Manipal Hospitals and he will be spearheading the brand building and expansion exercise for Manipal Group of Hospitals, across India.
 
On being promoted Dr Nagendra Swamy said, “I am happy to note that my contribution and efforts have been recognized. My objective will be to take Manipal Hospitals to newer heights and sprint double with the expansion plans that are in the pipeline.” 
 
Some of the highlights of his contribution can be enumerated:

·         Actively participated in achievement of the NABH accreditation to MHB.
·         Commenced many initiatives to mitigate medical liabilities by starting customised procedure consents / video consent etc
·         Spearheaded the Clinical Trials, Stem cell therapy activities, Homecare and established the Integrated Development Centre for GE / Preferred clinical research centre for Pfizer / active research partnership with Philips.
·         Brought growth in Medical Tourism and initiated International Medical Insurance business. He consolidated the Cluster concept in the Bangalore region.
·         He has represented Manipal Health Enterprises in various International & National forums and Government activities. He was awarded "Distinguished Alumni" by Manipal University and "Doctor's Day Award" by Govt of Karnataka.

Dr Nagendra Swamy is an adjunct Professor – Hospital Administration, Manipal University. He is also associated with National accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) as an Auditor, Member of Health Service Committee, Federation of India Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Leader of Medical Value Travel Group of the Tourism Expert Committee of the BCIC, Associate Fellow of Australian College Of Health Services Executives, Steering Committee Member for TUV Rheinland, India, Member Advisory Board- IBS, Bangalore ,Executive Director for Bangalore Chapter of Academy of Hospital Administration and Member Technical Advisory Committee – Karnataka Pollution Control Board.
