C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons salutes Rabindranath Tagore on his 150th birth anniversary

To commemorate Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore on his 150th birth anniversary, C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons takes pride in announcing celebrations for the great poet on this special occassion. ‘The Touchstone’, one of its flagship stores in Bangalore, will have a series of events and new collection to pay homage to a great literary soul of the previous millennium in the 11-day long celebrations from October 10 to October 20, 2010 which will coincide with Navaratri and Dassera.

To mark this auspicious occasion, designers from C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons have crafted two exquisite story-telling pieces of jewellery. One of these being, the story of Durga in diamonds, rubies and emeralds, and they welcome people to see and experience the rich culture of West Bengal in Bangalore. C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons has drawn many an inspiration from the writings of the great poet, and over the years, their craftsmen have designed pieces of jewellery that are nothing short of poetry carved in gold. C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons draw inspiration from the rich Bengali culture and have quite a few of their master craftsmen from Bengal and some of their loyal customers as well.

Rabindranath Tagore had a special relationship with Bangalore; his iconic book "Shesher Kabita" or The Last Poem, was composed at the Balabrooie. Now continuing their support for literary and cultural causes, C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons supports all the three Bengali associations in Bangalore: Jayamahal Sarbajanin Durga Charitable Samiti, The Tagore Cultural Centre and The South Bangalore Cultural Association on the occasion of the 150th Birth anniversary of the great Nobel Prize Winner. In keeping with the mood, all the staff in the C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons showrooms will be dressed in traditional sarees from Bengal, the showrooms will be playing music from Bengal and there will be special discounts to all the people from the land of the great poet himself.
