Rohit Ferro Tech Limited, the Kolkata based premiere steel and ferroy alloy manufacturer has been bestowed with star performer award by Engineering Export Promotion Council, a central Govt body in recognition for their exemplary contribution and achievement in this industry.

Rohit Ferro Tech Limited confer the award at a scintillating function in ITC Gardenia, Bangalore on 10th September 2010. Shri Anand Sharma , Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Government of India graced the occasion and presented the award to Mr Rohit Patni, MD, Rohit Ferro Tech Limited. Noteworthy to say, that the company has been consistently receiving this award from the past few years for their contribution in this industry.

An active player in both domestic and international market, RFTL’s product mix is aimed at catering to the high demand globally as well as maximizing on returns. The Company manufactures High Carbon Ferro Chrome (H.C.FeCr), Ferro Manganese (FeMn) and Silico Manganese (SiMn) through Submerged Arc Furnace (SAF) route.
Promoted by Mr. S K Patni, RFTL started its journey in 2003 with a merge capacity of 24,000 mtpa from its 2 nos. 9 MVA furnaces in Bishnupur, West Bengal. Then with its never-ending expansions every year, the same plant now produces 70,000 mtpa from total 5 nos. of 9MVA furnaces.
In 2006, RFTL also expanded its wings into State of Orissa by installing a 110,000 mtpa capacity of ferro alloys with 4 nos. 16.5 MVA furnaces in Kalinganagar Industrial Complex in Jajpur.
Presently, with the total installed capacity of 180,000 mtpa, RFTL exports nearly 70% of its production.
The recent expansion of its Manganese alloys production facility of 100,000 mtpa with 6 nos. 9 MVA furnaces in Haldia is under full swing, and has also got a status of 100% EOU. Commercial Production has started from this unit with the commissioning of 2 furnaces already done. The remaining 4 furnaces are slated to commence production by December 2010.
On the side of backward integration, RFTL has acquired interest in two coal mining companies in Indonesia - Thermal Coal and Coking Coal to feed its Power Plant as well as coke requirement for it’s ferro alloys production.
Since its inception, the Company has come a long way to position itself as a leading producer of High Carbon Ferro Chrome. RFTL has accreditation like ISO 9001:2000, a Two Star Export House Status, award for Export Excellence by EEPC, Membership of ICDA (International Chrome Development Association) etc.
