Quote from President of Rotary Bangalore Midtown - “The Young Achievers Award is a unique opportunity for young performers in various fields to be recognized. Instituted in 2006, this prestigious Award has, time and again, provided a platform for youth from Karnataka to compete and excel."

The first Young Achiever Award 2006 was shared by international swimmer Shikha Tandon and Manasi Prasad, who displayed exceptional achievements in the fields of academics and music. In 2007, the prize was shared by international swimmer Rehan Poncha and Team Ashwa, a team of young professionals who designed and fabricated India’s first race car prototype and won two awards in their debut race in the FSAE event at Australia. In 2008, the prize was shared by Rohan Bopanna, one of India’s most promising stars on the professional tennis circuit since 2003, and Team Garuda, a remarkable group youngsters who have successfully created and test driven India’s first ever Supermileage car that runs for 180 km on a single litre of petrol. Anup Sridhar, One of India’s best known badminton players, received the special mention award.

Last year, the prize was shared by Pavitra Chalam, a documentary film maker and Aaron D’Souza, an ace swimmer.
