M. S. Visweswara memorial inaugurated

Maradihally Shivananda Sastry Visweswara Memorial was launched on 14th August 2010 at a simple function held at Jayarama Seva Mandali, 8th Block Jayanagar, Bangalore, within one year of passing away of Shri. M. S. Visweswara.
As part of the Memorial, a four member committee, Veda Shikshana Samiti (VSS) has been constituted to work towards strengthening the Vedic education system for the benefit of the society. The members of the committee are M. V. Udaya, L. Chandrashekhar, Sri. K. M. Sripada Rao and B. Adithya. Under the auspicious of VSS, an annual program called Veda Vandane, to express gratitude to the Vedic Teachers was conducted as part of the inauguration of the memorial.  For the year 2010, Veda Brahma Sri Chandrashekarapura Yagnanarayana Sastry Shivram Sastry was present to receive the expression of gratitude from the Veda Shikshana Samithi.

Sri Babu Krishnamurthy, Editor, Karmaveera was the chief guest for the function. Sri B N Murthy, Secretary, VHP, Karnataka and AP regions presided over the function. Shri. Sripad and Shri. Udaya, members of VSS, were present on the dais. Sri M K L N Sastry, Secretary Mulknad Sangha and Dean BTLIT, Dr. T. V. Raju, Prof. and Director of R.V. Institute of Management, and other eminent people, members of family and friends presided over the function.  
The chief guest Babu Krishnamurthy shared the memories of his discussions with Late Sri M S Visweswara and Late Sri J S Sastry and expressed his happiness about the younger generation leading such an initiative. Sri Chandrashekarapura Yagnanarayana Sastry Shivram Sastry stressed the role of Brahmins in preserving the Vedas and ensuring continuity of the Vedic knowledge to the next generations. Sri B N Murthy talked about the importance of preserving vedic culture and the role of younger generation in doing that. He explained the initiative of organizing Veda parayana at homes, launched by VHP and requested interested people to contact him for further details.
Sri Muruli Mohan welcomed the Guests, Sri M K Sridharan gave an introduction to the program. The program was compered by Chi Adithya B. Invocation was sung by Kumari Amulya. Sri Muruli Mohan delivered the vote of thanks. The program concluded by the recitation of the Shanti Mantra. The audience were served with snacks after the programme. More than 70 people were present in the function.  

Maradihally Shivananda sastry Visweswara Memorial was founded in remembrance of Late Sri M S Visweswara [03-12-1948 to 18-08-2009]. Sri M S Visweswara was born on 3rd December 1948 as the second son to Dr. J Shivananda Sastry who was a Government Ayurvedic Practitioner. Since his school days he was socially active, a good debater and volleyball player. He had a flair for writing articles and was very much interested in Education, Media and Policy issues. He simplified Rubik's cube solutions, prepared teaching material related to science, economy, geography (maps) and Mathematics suitable to children. He delivered lectures in schools  and encouraged others to follow the model.

Veda Shikshana Samiti (VSS) is an initiative started under the MSV memorial. It has been constituted to work towards strengthening the Vedic Education System for the benefit of the society.
