Recreating ethnicity with Riyaz Gangji!

Sixteen years ago Riyaz Gangji, along with wife Reshma, started his first designer store in Mumbai in1995 with his earliest client as Ajmera’s, well renowned industrialists, he had a dream to pursue. Riyaz had already trained under a well known American designer in Hong Kong and learnt the art of creating impeccable garments, especially business suits, semi-formal outfits and other such attire.

The Evening and Cocktail Wear’ by Designer Riyaz Gangji and starring Bollywood actress Sonal Chauhan was  a show stopper.
 The LIBAS  Exclusive Fashion Show for ‘Evening and Cocktail Wear’ by Designer Riyaz gangji  kicked off on 8th of August 2010 at The Lalit Ashoka Hotel, Kumara Krupa High Grounds, Bangalore.

 The collection for “Bangalore’s Living Rich” Fashion Show consisted both Men’s and Women’s line keeping in mind Club and Cocktail Wear. The men’s formal line boasted of a luxurious feel with the use of materials like Velvets, Brocade, combined with suiting material. Colors are mostly blacks and greys that are most suitable for nightwear, something which the royal man can team with shirts or tee shirts and jeans as well, if he is in the mood of semi-formals! For the women, exquisite sarees with fitted blouses along with elegant yet chic gowns form part of the collection. Gowns in wine and deep rust amongst other colors highlight the woman form and are extremely pleasing to the eye! The sarees were in pastel colors with structured embellishments that accentuate curves. Draping here forms an essential part for the sarees and gowns alike.

Riyaz’s brand LIBAS has touched many families in Mumbai and with stores opening in other cities he wants to take his dream of touching the hearts of many more family through celebrations which matter to them the most “I have mostly been associated with ethnic & bridal wear, especially with LIBAS doing great business with wedding wear. I want to change this perspective of people as we already have been much more. I want to come out with something new that critics will also love” states the enthusiastic Riyaz.
