Catch celebrities at this cartoon exhibition!

Peculiarities in the features of his celebrity caricatures is what makes Bharat Jagtap an expert illustrator, a painter, a mask artist, a mural artist and a caricaturist. 

One can find funny expressions of MS Dhoni, Salman Khan, Bill Clinton, Manmohan Singh and Girish Karnad  captured to perfection by Jagtap at an exhibition of his caricatures at the Indian Cartoon Gallery.
“I enjoy drawing; it has been my hobby always. I started off by sketching cartoons for articles and then continued,” said Bharat Jagtap at the inauguration of his cartoon exhibition.

M.B. Patil, Chithrashilpi Venkatappa Awardee, inaugurated the exhibition. “For any sketch, line drawing is important and for that observation of the subject is more important. Bharat has beautifully portrayed his subjects in a very different angle and action,” M.B. Patil complimented.

The inauguration followed live demo of caricaturing of a few people who visited the gallery.
100 selected caricatures and illustrations of Bharat Jagtap are on display at the exhibition. The exhibition will be on for public till 7th August 2010 at The Indian Cartoon Gallery, No 1 Midford Gardens, Behind Big Kids Kemp, Off MG Road, Bangalore- 1, except on Sundays.

This freelance commercial artist started his career as an ordinary paster in the pasting department of a newspaper, then followed his career as a press photographer and finally became an illustrator of the leading Marathi daily, Tarun Bharat in Belgaum.
