Pilgrimage Guest Houses in Tirumala
An extent of Ac. 7.5 cents of land at Tirumala is in the ownership of Mujarai Department, Karnataka. Recently, TTD Panchayat Office, Tirumala has leased the same land to Karnataka State Charities for 50 years from 12-11-2007 to 11-11-2057 vide E.O TTD Letter No.PO2/480/AEO(P)/TML/2006, dt.30-10-2008.
The comprehensive plan has been prepared at an estimated cost of Rs.131 Crores with Block-A consisting of 500 rooms with plinth area of 69,113 sft and built up area of 2,67,414 sft with stilt + 4 floors. Block-B to accommodate 22 VIP and 8 VVIP rooms and Block-C comprising stilt + 4 floors with 16 shops, 2 restaurants, 1 wedding hall and 2 dormitories.
The plan for the proposed Block-A, B and C are submitted to TTD for approval on 3-2-2009. Then revised plans were resubmitted to TTD Estate Officer for approval on 5-5-2010 limiting the height of building to 50 Mts as per TTD technical approval.
Hon’ble Minister for Medical Education, Govt. of Karnataka, Hon’ble Minister for P.W.D, Govt. of Karnataka, Endowment Development Board Chairman, Govt. of Karnataka and M.L.A of Yalahanka Sri H.R. Viswanath called for meeting with Hon’ble TTD Chairman, Tirumala on 20-07-2010.
Secretary (P.W.D), Chief Enginer (C.N.B South), Principal Chief Architect, Govt. of Karnataka and other P.W.D officers have attended the meeting and the Chairman, TTD have given the following instructions to the Chief Engineer, TTD to accord sanction to the plan submitted by the Govt. of Karnataka.
- existing Kalyani has to be shifted to north-eastern side and Block-B to be shifted to south-eastern side;
- set backs as per bye-laws of U.D.D and G.O.No.302, dt.15-4-2008 are to be adopted;
- 5% of the total area to be ear-marked for amenities;
- Restrict the height of building to the adjoining Museum height.
