Sagar Group to be among finest in the country

Seven years after the success of its Jayanagar branch, the Sagar Group has followed with a 415-bed multi-specialty tertiary care referral hospital in the sprawling 29 acre Wi-fi enabled campus of Dayananda Sagar Institutions in Kumaraswamy Layout. Sagar Hospitals, Banashankari now aims to be among the finest in the country.
The Sagar management organized an informal get-together at Royal Comforts earlier this week chaired by  Mr. Radhakrishna, ED, Conl. Dayanand, Medical Director and Dr. Madhan Gaikward.
Addressing the media Mr. Radhakrishna ED spoke on its expansion plans, viz. a proposed 1000 bedded hospital at Devenahalli to cater to International patients.
As part of the expansion plan, units are proposed to be set up nationally and internationally. Within India, the focus is on tier-II and III cities for developing more such units.  
He also said the hospital would offer high quality medicare at an affordable price within the reach of the common man, announcing the new tagline for the hospital, viz. 'With You. For Life'. ….. 
Its commitment to extend the same high quality modern facilities to underprivileged has earned the organization a high credibility for treating critical ailments. Extensive patronage form poorer class is a highpoint of the organization’s earnestness and providing professional excellence to the underprivileged in consonance with the Government’s schemes of low cost health insurance such as Yashwasini, Vajpayee Arogya Shree and Kalaignar Health Assistance and the in-house Sagar Rudaya Sagar program. The hospital has treated about 1000 patients in the last one year. 
Sagar group is planning to strengthen its overseas presence by opening centres in Dubai and Muscat. In Dubai a Poly-clinic and a Day Surgical Centre in the health city and in Muscat, a poly clinic will be opened soon to expand its overseas foot print. Also it has lined up plans to open hospitals in Mysore, Hubli and Davanagere with 200 beds each as secondary care with an investment of over Rs 400 crore in the next 3 years, said Mr. Radhakrishna, ED. 
Sagar group, on its way to consolidation in over four decades, has already achieved several milestones such as LDRP Suites, and Bone- marrow transplantation to name a few. 
The services offered include a wide range of surgical and therapeutic treatment in various super specialities such as Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Nephrology and Urology with Greenlight Laser procedures for treating enlarged prostate, Paediatrics and Neonatology, Paediatric surgery, Cardiac Sciences, General and Minimally Invasive Surgery, Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, Plastic Surgery and Cosmotology, Neurology and Neurosurgery with brain lab navigation, Diabetes and Endocrinology apart from various other clinical specialties.

We were the first in south-east Asia to install the 1.5 Tesla MRI in Sagar Hospitals, Jayanagar", said Dr. ……… The new hospital is equipped with some of the latest diagnostics and surgical equipments in the world.  
It is the first hospital in Bangalore to install the 128 Slice CT, which is the fastest CT in the world. It can perform a cardiac scan in just five seconds and a full body scan in 10 seconds. The 128 Slice CT also reduced radiation by 80% and provides clear imaging CT angio.  
 
The robotic enabled core operation theatre is well-equipped for minimally invasive surgeries. All operation theatres in the new Sagar Hospitals are fitted with L.E.D. lights bringing in the latest technology in operation theatres.
Conl. . Dayanand, Medical Director in his address he said that the British High Commission had approached the Group to make investments in UK  out of 9 invitees from India. “Ours will be 5 star standard in another 10 years ahead when it comes to infrastructure and have 99% success rate in the major surgeries,” he said. Over 1500 BPL patients have been treated, and patients conducted through rural camps for various surgeries ranging from Rs. 20,000/- to 90,000/-. 
The hospital has specially dedicated a presidential suite of 1200 sqft. room for master health check up for senior citizens and VIPS under one roof where every checkup is done, one need not have to run from one floor to another, which functions from 8 am to 8 pm, and which is absolutely free for above 50 years with prior appointment he added.
It is also the only hospital in Bangalore to have cubicle ICUs for patient privacy. The ICUs have cameras for each cubicle enabling remote access to patients from anywhere.  
 

Well appointed rooms have two-way video conferencing facility. Well-laid outpatient consulting rooms with spacious waiting lounge, Super-speciality procedures like open heart surgeries, cardiac surgeries" kidney transplants, knee replacements, hip replacements, coronary and peripheral angioplasty, advanced neuro intervention and complex neuro surgeries are done at the Hospital. It also has a facility for providing emergency and trauma care for treating cardiac arrests, Road Traffic Accidents (RT A) and other such medical emergencies. The emergency unit is attached to a minor OT for providing immediate medical attention to patients.
