Expressions rule Kagaya’s cartoons at

‘South India, In the eyes of a Japanese cartoonist’

Irresistible passion towards cartooning is reflected through the works of Tadao Kagaya which have been exhibited at the Indian Cartoon Gallery on MG Road. are simple and focus on expressions because I find South Indian

 “I am only an amateur cartoonist. My cartoons s very expressive. That is why I like South India,” said  Kagaya at the inauguration of his very first exhibition titled “South India, In the eyes of a Japanese cartoons.” here today.  

Prominent colours blended with a tinge of humour give life to the sketches of Kagaya that depict people and places of South India.

Masayuki Tsuchikawa, Head of the Consulate of Japan inaugurated the exhibition. “Kagaya’s long stay in India is reflected in his cartoons. His cartoons will act as the catalyst for co-operation among two nations,” expressed Tsuchikawa.

56 select works of Tadao Kagaya are on display at the exhibition. The exhibition will be on for public till 24th July at The Indian Cartoon Gallery, No 1 Midford Gardens, Behind Big Kids Kemp, Off MG Road, Bangalore- 1, from 10 A.M to 6 P.M. 

About Tadao Kagaya:
 Tadao Kagaya is a Japanese national residing in Bangalore for the past 20 years. He started drawing cartoons at the same time when he had come to India to establish a wood craft factory to export the products to Japan. While he was through his business, Indian Culture and people fascinated him the most which forced him to settle in this country. At present he is enjoying his retired life in Bangalore.
