Mirchi Music Awards to felicitate the Best of Kannada Film Music

Music has always been an integral part of life, knowing no boundaries. Every year, several songs and albums get released; few get noticed by listeners while a handful of them get recognised at award ceremonies. Many songs don’t even get promoted for reasons unknown. For the kind of effort that goes into making music for films, this beautiful art still does not get its due credit.  
To celebrate excellence and felicitate the deserving composers and performers in our music industry; Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM, India’s hottest Radio station launched the Mirchi Music Awards. After the successful completion of the 2nd edition in the Hindi Film Music Industry, Radio Mirchi now presents Mirchi Music Awards South 2009. 
Mirchi Music Awards – South will be held on 17th July 2010 at the Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai
The Mirchi awards are judged by a jury that stands out for its personal achievements, passion for music and its unerring judgment about the finer nuances of music. Winners will be decided by a panel of distinguished Jury Members. The Jury is chaired by Mr. Hamsalekha. (Chairperson)  Other illustrious members of the Jury are: , Mr. Gurukiran, Mr. Yograj Bhat
Mr. Prem, Mr. V.HariKrishna, Ms. Manjula Gururaj, Mr. Prakash, Mr. Nagathihalli Chandrashekar, Mr. Rajesh Krishnan, Mr. Raghu Dixit & Mr. K Kalyan 
South India’s biggest Music Awards will witness the Best of Music talent getting crowned after going through tough tests and parameters designed by these doyens of the Kannada film music industry. 
Speaking about the Radio Mirchi Music Awards Mr. Hamsalekha, Jury Chairman, Mirchi Music Awards said, “MMA is a great recognition for the music talents of sandalwood, it has come as a pleasant breeze of surprise and as a energy booster for the musicians of sandalwood….he quotes it as “Sangeetha ke surprise ee Mirchi Music Awards” 
Speaking on the announcement, ENIL CEO Prashant Panday, said, “Mirchi Music Awards celebrates excellence in music. After two successful years in the Hindi film industry I’m happy that the awards have come to the South. The Awards salute the hard work, passion and the immense creative talent of our music industry.  The integrity and dedication behind Mirchi Music Awards is what makes it unique. For us at Mirchi this is our way of saying ‘Musicge Mirchiya Salaam’ 

While the awards will felicitate musicians across various categories, for the popular awards there is of course the voice and opinion of Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM listeners who have backed the show with unrelenting enthusiasm.  Listeners will get a chance to vote for their favourite album and song of the year 2009, and can win a chance of attending the Awards Night Function.
