Reaching Your Goals is Easy!

By Ajit Kaikini

Till TN Seshan became the Chief Election Commissioner, one had hardly heard about the Commission. If it weren't for Jayakar Jerome, BDA would have still been languishing in the dumps. But for Raja Ram Mohan Roy, women empowerment would have remained a meaningless slogan. What made them extraordinary, what drove them to achieve what they did? Right thinking, right habits and a rigorous routine towards the right goals!

They chose not to accept their present condition as an unalterable given, but chose to be responsible and bring about a change in themselves. They did not want to be like their predecessors who complained about prevalent conditions and improper colleagues. India badly needs such 'Enthusiastic Change Agents' who can keep the tempo of our growth in top gear. Our youth should emulate them and restructure their mindsets. Doing this is not actually rocket science! We have to work on identifying our cycle of negative thoughts and replace it with the right habits and routines. These negative thoughts, which are mostly due to conditioning thinking at home and school/college, should be avoided like a plague.

When our thinking, habits and routines are directed towards common soul-filled goals, attaining them becomes easy. We become self-starters and get into the flow. How one thinks/reads about the end results of the goals, help form good/ bad habits. If a fat person thinks nice things about the tasty food, he feels like eating it. However, if he visualises it as something that makes him more obese and sick, he will automatically avoid it. Make a habit of cultivating and keeping good and healthy habits, and you will sail towards your goals!
