Samarthanam’s Special Children sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Ashoka

Despite his busy schedule Sri. R. Ashoka, Transport Minister celebrated his birthday with the visually impaired children of Samarthanam at JP Nagar. He was accompanied by his wife along with Bangalore South Corporators viz.   Chandrashekar Raju, A. Ramesh, CK Ramamurthy, N. Nagaraju and B. Somashekar. The Minister was extended a warm welcome by Ms. Vasanthi Savanur, Trustee, and staff of Samarthanam .
Ashoka cut the ‘birthday ’ cake in the presence of hundreds of disabled children of Samarthanam who sang for him and wished for his well being. He, along with his wife distributed sweets and served special meals to the children. This is the fourth consecutive birthday he is celebrating in Samarthanam. On the occasion, he promised to provide a Volvo bus for a jolly ride to Bannerghatta National Park along with children’s favorite refreshments to commemorate the Bus Day on Sunday, July 4, and he also promised to accompany them too!
Subsequently Sri Mahantesh, Managing Trustee acknowledged his gratitude to Mr. A. Venkatesh, Puttenahalli Corporator for taking keen interest in bringing Sri. Ashoka to Samarthanam. He also thanked him for sponsoring breakfast, lunch and dinner to over 400 children from both JP Nagar and HSR centre children.
