Play for Me…. (For the Differently Abled)

Biggest Corporate Cricket tournament 2010

Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled is all geared up to host the biggest Inter Corporate Cricket tournament, Play for me…cricket for a cause, bringing the corporate teams together on the 22 yard pitch to support and raise funds for the Indian Cricket team for the Blind, for the upcoming Blind Cricket World Cup to be played in England 2011.
Blind cricket is no less exhilarating than mainstream cricket. The game is fast paced and acutely instinctive since the players rely only on audio cues of the specially designed ball. But in a country where cricket is a religion, cricket for the Blind is unheard off…with hardly any encouragement or any sponsorship.
Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled has taken up the cause of promoting Blind Cricket and raising funds for the India Blind cricket team which will represent our country in the upcoming Blind Cricket World Cup.  As a part of this initiative, Samarthanam Trust recently successfully organised a National level Cricket tournament for the Blind in Bangalore in the month of May 2010 which was a platform to attract good talent from all across the country and select a strong Indian Cricket Team for the Blind. Further what has helped the cause of Blind cricket is the fact that the Indian team has been playing consistently in the international circuit, in the three Blind World Cups held so far, India has reached the last four in each of the events.
Alongside playing for this noble cause,  this Corporate Cricket tournament will provide a common platform for all the corporate people to come face to face, as team players, as opponents, fighting for the same cause, crushing each other’s efforts to make it to the top, but having a time of their life doing this all. In the fast-paced corporate world, a Cricket tournament like this helps to re-kindle the sportsman spirit and serves as a stress-free forum in a relaxed environment, away from the pressures of the busy, chaotic workplace.
So gear up for some fun and action!!!  All for a cause to support the Indian Blind Cricket team.
