Prakash Kumar (Raju), Congressman for BBMP elections

Prakash Kumar Raju popularly known as Meesa Prakash, is a 54 year old social worker in JP Nagar popular for organizing cultural events sports such as Kannada Rajyotsava every year. He is honorary President for JP Nagar Kannada Yuvakara Sangha which organizes every year a Mega Event in Bangalore south to commemorate  Kannada Rajyoutsava, a three-day event including Musical nights, orchestra and cultural program, where senior citizens, poets, are honored and scholarship given to school children who top in SSLC, and note books distributed to government schools.
  He has also been organizing every year Classical and Bharathanatyam dance events performed by renowned International dancers and artists at his locality to entertain the locals on the occasion of Shivarathri. He has held health camps and blood donation camps also.
  Prakash is an ex-bank employee and used to represent his bank team as a cricketer. His passion to serve the public led him to leave a plum job and enter politics as a Congress worker. He joined the Congress in 1982 as an ordinary party worker and became Vice President for JP Nagar Block, and then General Secretary. He never aspired for a bigger city level post as he always believed that he should first serve his own neighboring areas where he was born and brought up. He is proud of the fact that he has worked with stalwarts like Sri. Gundurao, Varalakshmi Gundurao, BK Hariprasd, DK Shivakumar, S Ramesh, ST Somashekar, Ramalinga Reddy and now with Suresh the KPCC leader and Jayanagar Congress leader.
  People always looked to him as their local representative and leader, who used to solve their problems be it roads, street lights, drainage blockages, old age pensions and so on. This has inspired him to contest in the forthcoming BBMP election from JP Nagar ward 77 with support from his mentors DK Hariprasad and Suresh, KPCC Member and Jayanagar Congress leader.
  If given a chance he says his first priority would be to clean up JP Nagar with lot more new parks and make it a garbage-free area. He intends to get a Mini Convention hall for conducting cultural programs and a place for senior citizens to chat, make JP Nagar a crime-free area.

 

  The purpose of contesting for the forthcoming BBMP election is to not give scope for unworthy candidates who have just money power, he says adding, if we don't it do now, it will be too late for people like us to enter public life.
  Prakash also holds Yoga class for housewives at his house conducted by his wife to promote good health. He also conducts regular Bharathanatyam Classes for men, women and youngsters, under the banner of "Samskruthi" under the guidance of professional international dancer Sri. Sathyanarayana Raju. Recently, he organized a Football tournament under the banner of JP Nagar Youth Association on 9th and 10th of December near JP Nagar Club with floodlight where over 25 teams from all over Bangalore will took part.
