Manmohan Singh - Sonia Gandhi Caricature Contest

Indian Institute of Cartoonists announced the results of the National 85 International Manmohan Singh-Sonia Gandhi Caricature contest organised recently in collaboration with Sri.V.R. Deshpande Memorial Trust.
The organizers received a total of 625 entries for the contest, with one thousand five hundred Caricatures which is beyond expectations said Mr RV Deshpande. He also expressed his happiness in promoting talents of young cartoonists and congratulated the winners and all the participants who participated from all over the country.
The Jury members had a very tough time to evaluate the best caricatures for the prizes, and selected six best caricatures from each section
The entries received for the caricature contest were in two types, one was in the original and other was the digital images sent by Email.
The Jury did not make any distinction between the types of entries or in the medium chosen or the size in which they were made.
The only criteria was how the participants had drawn the caricatures of Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi.
Although most of the works had political comments included, it was decided that only the physical resemblance and the caricature part should be considered. The selected entries were decided exclusively for caricature and not the political comment.
RV also said that these caricatures will be put on display at Chirtakala Parishat from 15th to 22nd Jan.
