ROTARY CYCLATHON

FUN, FITNESS AND PRESERVATION OF PLANET EARTH

The world of Rotary came forward to add their mite to help create awareness about the environment, promote fitness and encourage its members and their families to take to the healthy sport of cycling!

District Governor Rtn. S. Nagendra, of District 3190, and well known Cine Star Bhavna flagged of the event earlier this week at Saklavara Village, with over 120 enthusiastic participants in age groups from 6 to 60. BSA Cycles, the sponsors, organised cycles for the event and helped run the programme. The rally, covering over 12 kilometres, passed through several narrow roads and picturesque villages on the fringe of the Bannerghata forest, and made the entire event a meaningful and memorable event. It served to highlight the need to preserve the environment, reduce conspicuous consumption, and made the participants aware of their fitness levels, or lack of it, and the need to get into shape and a healthier lifestyle.

Rotary, and its members, the largest non profit NGO in the world, in the forefront of service and support to the community is also actively engaged in initiatives to create awareness about our environment and nurturing and preserving planet earth, and the CYCLATHON has been a wonderful attempt in this direction.  Rotary plans on making this very successful event an annual affair and hopes to take this message across to as many citizens of Bangalore as possible.
