85 poor get pension certificates
Under the guidance of area MLA BN Vijayakumar a function was organized by N. Nagaraju, Ex. Corporator and aspirant at Balamuri Temple Street, Byrasandara to give away pension sanction certificates to 85 beneficiaries. The pensions included widow pension, old age pension and handicapped pension. The certificates were distributed by area MLA, Sri. BN Vijayakumar on 2nd December. Others present on the occasion were Ex. Corporators CK Ramamurthy, SK Natraj, B. Somashekar, Chennigiriyappa, General Secretary and Jaidev, BTM layout President and all the party workers and block presidents.
While the widows pension holder will get Rs.400/- a month, old age pension is for Rs.400/- and Visually impaired and differently abled pension, upto Rs. 1000/- a month.
Earlier, Vijayakumar inaugurated a mini high mast light and a water tank which will store and supply dinking waters to the locality in addition to the regular Cauvery water supply.
Besides that one resident received a sale deed and a possession certificate to his house which was pending since 30 years. There are 54 people who do not have proper possession certificates for their houses. The MLA promised to ensure that all the rest of the people will also be given possession certificates.
Addressing the public Nagaraju appealed to the public to give their blessing and support in the forthcoming BBMP election and also said that most of the works for the ward will be taken up under the leadership of Vijayakumar. People can come to us any time with any problem and we will address it immediately, he said, and asked them to identify the required developments for their ward which would be implemented after getting the budget allocated with the help of the MLA.
Addressing the people BNV said that earlier government was giving only Rs.200/- for widows and old age and Rs.500/- to handicapped, but after BJP coming to power with the able leadership of Sri. Yeddyurappa it had been doubled. Admitting that the amount was still not adequate, he said at the very least it would come useful as pocket money and avoid getting into debts. He also assured all the basic facilities to Byrasandra ward and appealed to Byrasandra people to reelect their trusted leader Nagaraju, this time on the BJP ticket. The MLA also commended the party workers viz. Uday, Shankar, Velu and Palani for taking initiative in identifying the beneficiaries by going to their doorsteps and helping them from filling the application to submission of application without any charges.
