"A salutation to all those youth, who are relentless in their endeavor to improve self and society " - this is an apt way to describe the YOUTH ICON AWARD sponsored by This Week Bangalore, Utthana and Fitness Web.
Every year, inspired youth are identified and recognised on this with this award to keep them motivated and inspire other youth. This year, on the occasion of Dhwani, conducted by Buoyancee, a contemporary dance performance by Nrithyanidhi, two youngsters were recognised for their contribution to the society. The guest of honor for the evening, Dr. Manu Kulkarni, ex UNICEF representative for North, presented the award to the deserving youngsters. Mr Ashwin Nair, One of the recipients was ecstatic to have been recognised at such a young age of 20 yrs on such a big platform. Ashwin has reached out in empowering teens and youth and even executives twice his age in life skills.  For the sightless and hearing impaired, he has found his own unique ways to reach out to them.
The other recipient, Mr Naveen Kumar, a young and upcoming artist as well as a HR professional, probably the youngest Chief People Officer, savoured the moment with delight.  Not only has he anchored in Radio as a jockey, he has written two books which are a big hit.  Be it stage or on the shop floor of the companies, he blends well and is a people's man.  Very connected with people, he uses the same to help people who meet him.  At the age of 25 yrs, he has a flair with people and is able to manage which many cannot do.
