Food & Civil Supply officials and license holders face-off
Jayanagar MLA BN Vijayakumar has created a platform to bring the Food and civil supply top officials and the license holder Ration shop keepers under one roof, after getting several complaints from the BPL card holders in Jayanagar and surroundings. The meeting was chaired by Sri. BN Vijayakumar, MLA, Sir. Thippanna Mansoorkar, the Deputy Director, Bangalore South and other area inspectors
Addressing the gathering Sri. BNV said that the very intention of organizing this meeting is to ensure the regular supply food grains in time with said quantity and also demanded to put up board by displaying the details of date of issue of goods and timings and to avoid any misappropriation of food grains and kerosene. Over 65 ration shop owners took part in the meeting, some of the them even complained that the proper verification needs to be done by the department to check the renewal of card, some people come to us seeking ration without knowing that their cards is lapsed due to non renewal and fight with us unnecessarily, and also urged and demanded more percentage of commission from the department as we are running the business in a rented premises and finding it difficult to manage with the present commission offered by the department. Some complained about the number of card holders covered, which ranged from s high of 1000 members to a low of 150 members.
Sri. BN Vijayakumar gave one month to both license holders and the department to ensure a better, faster and prompt service to the beneficiaries of all card holders of Jayanagar in particular. The next meeting will be held between the department, license holders and the beneficiaries.
